Hi everyone.
I joined the forum around 2011, stopped, and only just came back.
Why?
I think it was for many reasons; partly because I found my first professional job and got sidetracked...
....but mostly, I think, because I felt like I had no ideas or skills (classic 'wantrepreneur' mindset) and so, paralyzed by indecision, I gave up.
Here we are in 2013, though, I got the entrepreneur bug again, and thanks to a good couple of products - and, most importantly, confidence in some unusual skills that could benefit people - I took some action, have created a (truly terrible!) website, and am figuring out how to validate my idea to see if people actually want it.
So, my 'unusual skills' are (in addition to being a decent copywriter, but that's just a useful skill; I don't know how to make any money from it) that I have received some very high-level and exclusive training in what you might call "inner game" -
- Like mindset training, but very workable, practical and effective; so I know how to pinpoint what causes problems like lack of confidence, introversion, self-doubt - and, most importantly, what makes people stuck and unable to see solutions (so it's perfect for business people and entrepreneurs)...
...and I can then deliver highly effective mental drills and exercises to blast away these obstacles and help people clear up what is going on, which propels them to take action and get things done. It's simple and highly effective, as they get to root causes that most programs miss.
Using these tools, there is also a lot of knowledge I have in how to apply these tools specifically to business ideas.
So, I have some skills. I have created an absurdly simple (and awful, I know) website. I'm now learning how to get people to the site, and ideally, sign up to an email list JUST SO I KNOW whether anyone is interested in this.
I did put a paypal button on there, but that was just figuring out how - I don't expect buyers yet. I would like to see if I can create a list, so I could then either just send out weekly free stuff, or maybe put out an ebook, and then later perhaps offer a coaching program.
I have no idea what I'm doing in terms of getting a list or fans or traffic, but I have watched a great product from Appsumo which at least encouraged me to actually make the site and try to validate before wasting time on it, so I am following that guide and trying to learn
The awful site is Inner Game for Businesses | Next-Level Productivity and Efficiency Training for Managers, Entrepreneurs, and Businesses if anyone wants to look. I really do just want it good enough to encourage people to sign up to the email list at this stage, so I'm not going to spend weeks designing it perfectly just yet. If I get decent interest, I will.
You guys rock!
Best,
Will
P.S. I hope it's okay to post the link to my blog here? Don't want to get in trouble.
