Thought you folks would find this interesting: Calculating the Risk of College

TL;DR (or no WSJ subscription):

For every 100 students: 42 graduate in 4 years, 18 in 6 years.

Of the 60 that graduate, 42 will have student loan debt. They owe, on average, twice as much as they did 20 years ago.

5 of the 42 will default on the loans by age 33.

After 10 years, 32% of grads will have jobs that don’t require a college degree.

What about the 40 students who don’t graduate you ask?

28 will still have student loans to pay. 10 of the 28 will default.

As the article says, this isn’t anti-college, but for those of you in school and those with kids, pick a worthwhile major and FINISH.
