What I recently started doing is to ask myself this question "does it help reaching my goals?" if the answer is "no" I won't do it, if the answer is "yes" I'll do it. I always use that when I'm thinking about doing something that costs a bigger amount of time. I also do this for other goals like losing weight when choosing the food at the grocery store.

Of course playing games is fun, I loved to do it, but I completely quitted it for months now. There are just so many better ways to use my time. I didn't stop enjoying it, but I just don't do it anymore. I think with looking for something to work on that's similar enjoyable as gaming you are on the wrong way. This will only end in you trying to do something you love, instead of loving what you do, no matter how hard it is. Almost everything is fun as soon as you are good at it, getting good at it is the part that most people don't want to invest time and hard work into. Quit searching for a fun replacement of gaming and do whatever needs to be done, even if it's no fun. Just keep in mind that you will be able to play 3 days in a row if you want, as soon as you reached financial freedom.
