Hi all,

I messed up two years ago. Lost a lot of my young families money being stupid. Will never forgive myself for it.

All I think about is business every spare minute is spent planning my course to freedom! I started one a few years ago while working full time in oil and gas. Didn't fully commit, it failed. Learnt plenty from it though.

Full time work ends late next year. I'm hanging around for a redundancy. I hate working for the man. I feel like I have so much to offer. I have been studying marketing for a while now. I want to put my knowledge to the test. My father owns a carpet cleaning business, he is ready to retire due to health reasons. Owner operator for 30 years. I want to prove it can be scaled. He believes there is no business model that works. My worries- carpet cleaning is a commodity. I want to use his busines as my first case study.

I believe there is a market for automating, scaling and implementing marketing systems to business owners who are about to retire and sell (typically boomers in the service industry). Either buying cheap and implementing change then selling or charging for a service prior to a sale to increase revenue and market appeal.

I have been playing around with GoHighLevel. It seems like a game changer to me.

Constant thoughts - Do I know enough to charge people for the service? Will I be able to test the market while still working full time in preparation for loss of job?

I consume self help and content about business. I love it. I take no action but am I just preparing myself for the big leap? I feel like no one close to me actually believes I can build a solid business after losing their trust earlier in life.

Felt like I needed to let this out. Apologies for the long intro!

Both MJ's and Alex Hormozi content really resonated with me.

I feel as though I want to follow Alex's marketing blueprint and offer it as a service. Does that make me unoriginal?

Of course, they don't believe in you, why would they.

Luckily, it doesn't matter whether anyone believes in you or not. Go and start taking action. Run ads for the business and see how it works. I am hosting a weekly accountability call here, which you might be interested in joining today. It is advertised at the top of the forum page (on pc).

We have a guy here who is making 5 figures a month profit with a carpet cleaning business. I don't remember the name right now, but it is possible.

Just remember to take action that matters. All the preparing in the world won't teach you as much as a week of taking action.

That’s my next move. Run ads targeting my market and gauge the response to a wait list/ register interest form. I figure this is the best way to validate my hypothesis

I know a Facebook Ads agency owner with over 100 carpet cleaning clients in the US. He just figured it out as he went along.

PS: I can't seem to get Google Ads to work for carpet cleaners in the US. The volumes are too low and CPCs too high.

Did he niche specifically into carpet cleaning businesses?

Searches for “Carpet Cleaning” in Aus have been on the decline for a few years. It worries me a bit. On one hand it’s the perfect business to apply my skills to as my father only works a few days a week for a few of his commercial clients, but has a customer base of thousands from previous years when he was fully operational waiting to be tapped.
On the other, it’s a commodity and the market is flooded with carpet cleaners.

The agency specialises in carpet cleaners.

Yeah, I'd be looking to reactivate the thousands of previous clients first.

I'm getting most of my leads from google ads now in the US, cpl is about $40-50, cpa is like $100, but the average ticket is about $400. I think the secret is in having a compelling usp and warranty, lots of reviews, good pictures and copy on the landing page, etc. Running 3 rooms for $x specials only attracts low quality customers

What’s your repeat business numbers like? Are you an owner operator or do you have employees?
What’s your usp?
