A lot of people get stuck and confused on Target Market vs. Ideal Client.
So I made you a picture.

There's usually overlap between these two.
When you target a market, you usually also try to reach your ideal client within that market. But sometimes your ideal client isn't in that market at all. So they are not one in the same. Ideal client is separate from target market. Maybe even considered a sub-component of your target market depending on what you sell. Or maybe your ideal client isn't found within that market at all.
It's possible to have a target market, but discover your ideal client isn't in it.
