I've had some luck on Fiverr with a gig doing job interview coaching. Had about 80 or so sales to clients. Fiverr made some changes and implemented a nonsense metric called "success score" which tanked my visibility. I had perfect reviews and great metrics but the new success score has tanked me as well as many other sellers. But my point is I had a service that my customers liked if they are presented with the offer.

So I decided to head out on my own. I created a website and have done some Youtube/Tik Tok content. I need help reaching my audience in a cost effective way. It's tough because basically my target market is people that have a job interview lined up and want a consult before the interview. My target market exists for a short period of time, say a week or two and then they most likely would not be interested in my service.

Any thoughts on how to reach them? I think I'd need to be creative. I did a bit of advertising with Google but didnt get any conversions so shut ads off. I know my target customer is out there but how to reach them at an expense where I'd still make money?

Do you do job interview coaching for a specific niche industry only?

I've mostly kept it open but I often found the people that bought my service were interviewing for jobs that aligned with my career experience..data analysis/ business analyst type work.

I ran a few linked in ads too. Apparently you can target people interviewing but the cost per click is pretty high often over $4 or $5 a click.

If you can help candidates to prepare for interview definitely people can trust you to be a career coach to do more.

People who landed themselves an interview are already top in the pyramid. There are many times more aspiring data analysts and business analyst who have been sending CV for months getting no reply. I think these are the people who are willing to pay even more for proper coaching on CV writing and skill building.

Right now you are like a tennis coach who only gives a tournament preps to the candidates who made in the semi-finals.

If you do not restrict yourself you have a much bigger market.

And you already have a list of customers who got the job successfully. That’s a great marketing tool.

I’d be tempted to sell it as a package, where the interview consult is the cherry on top…
“Rise to the top package”
-Resume tailoring
-Attire ideas
-Flash cards
-Portfolio creation 101
-Live 1:1 video consultation

You would appeal to people in broader stages of the process, and come up in more searches. Frankly I’d be interested in something like this, as I’m job shopping at the moment and it’s been a minute since I’ve been on the market.

That's a good idea for sure thanks. I definitely need to define my offering more. But once I've finalized it I just need to figure out how to get the word out cheaply. I suppose the best answer is to continue creating tik tok/youtube style content. Here's my site in you're interested. I think I could generate a 50% off coupon for the help if you're interested..just PM me.

My website is a work in progress..https://pathtohired.com

What i have in mind right now.
Why not collaborate with coaches in other industry?

For example Mr A, B, C has been a coach in data analyst. Their customer's goal must be to get a job right? They could discuss the technical of job itself, and they will refer to you for mock interview

Ah that's a good idea. Just to be clear are you saying to try to partner with other educators/coaches right? I think that could work but are they not sort of the competition? I guess I would need to find someone doing some type of training where I can be a value add but different than what they are doing.

Doesn’t have to be a full on partner ship. But just referring clients to each other
