Bob, try going into photoshop and either converting the file to jpeg (smallest format I know of) or cropping the picture to reduce it below 2.5mb. I did this when setting up my avatar.

Yep, Found the sunset picture somewhere? Photoshopped the wife into it, I used to have it as a background pic on my laptop.
