Hi all,
For the past year or so, I've been involved in a hustle that has required me to stay extremely organized regarding various data points on a daily basis.
Because what was on the market either didn't fit exactly what I was looking for or was far too expensive, I took it upon myself to build the solution. So I bought a license for MS Access, and at night while I wasn't hustling, I was coding the solution to my organization/data problem in a database with user-facing forms to make things easier to enter/recall data (so you wouldn't have to run an SQL query every time you wanted to add/edit/select, etc).
Effectively this created a hustle within the original hustle
It occurred to me recently that there are lots of folks who might benefit from my solution, and although it's more cumbersome than a web-based tool (which is the ultimate goal), I think it would be worthwhile to test my theory that others would benefit from it by just seeing if I could sell it as an Access database as-is.
My initial concerns are:
- Obviously right off the bat I'm limited to folks who have Access on their computer (or are willing to buy it separately)
- I would need to figure out how to protect the file from someone just copying my work as their own (maybe password protection?)
Does anyone have any experience in selling Access databases? I'd love to hear if others have any words of wisdom here.
Thanks in advance!
