Right CMS for User Generated Inventory

I finally came up with a promising idea for an online business. I'm now trying to figure out what the right content management system is. I've played around with WP but that doesn't seem to be right for my idea.

For anyone who knows beermenus.com, what CMS would be suitable for a site like that? I basically want to add businesses to my website and then have users (and possibly the owners/managers of those businesses) log on to my site and update the inventory.

I'm about to install Joomla but I'm not sure if it's suitable for this idea that relies heavily on user generated content (they also need to be able to log on) as well as my own updates as I'll be the one adding new business to the list on a daily basis. Also, I do have limited experience in html/code so I'd prefer something basis but customizable in the future with the help of professional developers.
