I'm taking Roy on a gut feeling, not sure if Tyson will have the cardio to dance multiple rounds.. doesn't he have bad lungs aswell?

I'm sick of everyone around me in life, settling for EVERYTHING.

I am about to hit 30, and people all around me are hunkering up and living life ''safe'' doing what they are ''supposed to do.''

I hope it is what they want, and they are happy, but I don't understand how people can be content living life like that.

Settle for this relationship
Settle for this job
Settle for this income
Settle for this house
Settle for the Tv

Settle

Settle

Settle.

End of Rant.
I have too many of my own decisions to worry about. I'd rather just enjoy the company of others and if they're interested we can talk shop.

Some of the happiest people on this earth shit in a hole and drink from a river.

This was not some legend of distant history. This was not that long ago. This was a "developed" nation. A "democracy."

There are two ways to interpret this piece of history...

1. People, in masse, via the heavy hand of government, can do some extremely messed up things. (Correct)

2. That was just because they were German and evil like that can never happen in America. (Incorrect)

Gee, I wonder who is up next...
Wealthy, straight, Christian, white, male perhaps?

The Collapse of Arcadia Illustrates Yet Again How Entrepreneurship Is More Secure Than Having a Job

That’s it. Arcadia, Philip Green’s retail empire making up about 12% of England’s retail clothing shops, has collapsed.

It leaves behind 13 000 jobs and about 500 clothing stores.

The Signs of the Inevitable Doom Were Clear

Green and his wife Tina acquired Arcadia in the year 2000. At the time, Green was chairman of the retail company Amber Day, and Tina had various businesses no one really ever understood what about.

Quickly, they set up a structure to avoid paying taxes. Tina went to live in Monaco, famous for its inexistent tax rate on personal income, and subsequently acquired 95% of Arcadia.

In effect, Philip Green was CEO of Arcadia but did not own it. His wife did.

With Tina protected from taxation, Green (Arcadia) paid her a £1.2 billion dividend in 2005. The pre-tax profit of Arcadia was “only” £300 million.

This sign alone should have been sufficient to understand that neither Green nor his wife were interested in the long-term management and well-being of the company. Similar to Adam Neumann’s shady behavior to wire money outside of WeWork, the Greens sucked the life out of Arcadia.

They didn’t buy the company as a long-term investment. They bought it as a cash cow.

Over the years, Arcadia was revealed to be mismanaged and underinvested. Meanwhile, Philip Green spent time buying yachts (he bought three), threw a £5 million birthday party, and received a $250 000 monopoly with golden pieces from his wife.

As retail started moving online at the beginning of the 2010s, Arcadia stayed the course. Without any attention from its CEO, sales slowly started to decline. In 2015, Green sold BHS, another clothing brand in decline, to a former racing driver (with no experience) for £1. Shortly before the sale, a friend of the Greens had received about £95 million of dividends from BHS, wired to an HSBC account under the name of…Tina Green.

When the pandemic hit in February 2020, Arcadia was already struggling. The brand had lost its appeal and no effort to move the business online had truly been made.

The virus only precipitated the doom of the company. Under its current leadership, it could not have survived anyway.

What About the Employees?

Corporations remind you that you’re part of a family until they have books to balance.
The sad story of the collapse of Arcadia outlines once again how dangerous it is to leave the fate of your job into the hand of someone else.

When I told my grand-aunt I wanted to try entrepreneurship, she told me the risks to fail were enormous. I answered that I’d rather be the CEO of a failing company, then an employee.

Retail is a dying sector. It has been for quite a while now. The cost of the collapse of Arcadia will not only be felt by the people that directly depend on it but will also be carried away by the British taxpayer, among which the Greens…are not even part of.

The Bottom Line

The Greens’ behavior regarding the management of Arcadia wasn’t illegal.

However, it was goddamn unethical.

This sad story shows how the former “certainty of a job” is disappearing. As trends evolve fast, so does the job market. The employees’ skillset is going increasingly digital.

The story of the doom of Arcadia outlines how employees are first on the frontline when their CEOs make mistakes — or simply don’t care.

This tale reminds us that a contract with a company, no matter how good it may sound at the beginning, may ultimately be the most insecure and risky position one could have.

"If you were in Nazi Germany, the statistical probability is overwhelming that you would have been a perpetrator".

Most people overestimate very much how good they are, or would be. Very few would step up when it means putting yourself and your family on the line.

What's ironic is that the people who are "Nazis" now have the highest probability of opposing Hitler's disastrous populism, had they lived then, because they have dissident personalities.

Behold the eternal normie.

Right? When I say something like “the left is silencing opposition and it’s scary,” someone calls me a nazi for it and I’m like no, I’m literally against the line of tyranny that Nazis, communists, fascists, socialists, and monarchs imposed. It’s the whole point.

I don't have a problem with restrictions on free speech. The purpose of the 1st Amendment was to permit the several states to regulate speech according to their respective state religions. The post- Civil War USA has one state church of Harvard, so I must live overseas to criticize it safely. Jurisdictional arbitrage is the original free speech.

I have never heard a free speech advocate point to a society that actually had free speech, and then say how long its government lasted. Rome certainly didn't have free speech.

Government is a shared illusion, and whatever cannot be criticized will come to rule the minds and bodies of the masses. Free speech is simply abdication by the de jure government in favor of whatever de facto speech code arises in its place. What sort of speech code is viral, I wonder?

Multiple social cycle of history theories agree that the USA's strange experiment with permitting lese majeste heads rapidly towards a bad end. Ultimately the thug who punches you in the mouth if you diss him has more common sense. He knows what follows when chimps hoot.

Wow, I hope you don't hold a position of political power because this comment is just downright awful.

"He knows what follows when chimps hoot."

Freedom of speech requires protection. It must be nurtured and guarded as one of our greatest treasures. Liberty is constantly being threatened. You sound like a wannabe dictator.

If I wanted to be a dictator, I would fund libertarian free speech propaganda aimed at the right wing. Then the unprincipled Left would use their freedom to promote subversion to capture the priestly institutions such as media and academia, and use their newfound power to enrich themselves. The resulting looting, from smashing windows to smashing replicable science, would generate so much chaos and destruction that the right and center would insist upon a dictator to restore order.

Then I would merely need to retain my sanity and competence in an insane world, uttering populist bromides that are rightist now but were centrist 50 years ago, while gradually consolidating executive power and imprisoning priestly gangsters.

Sound familiar?

By the way, dictator is an office of the Roman Republic, similar to a president with emergency powers. I suspect you meant to call me literally Hitler, who was a tyrant after he dispensed with the Weimar Republic. But he was popular, so perhaps "king" is a better name. There were plenty of incompetent kings, after all, and new lines typically rose to power by violence. A tyrant oppresses the majority by the support of a militarized minority, whereas a king defends the people from oppressive elites.

Certainly the Kim dynasty of North Korea qualifies as kingly by now, so socialist propaganda is no obstacle to the appellation. That socialist kings usually fail to perpetuate their royal lines is unremarkable, in light of the fact that socialist countries mainly perpetuate bread lines. Caesar's tripartite checklist is bread, circuses and bribed Praetorians. Socialism performs dismally on two out of three. Hence they commonly appear to be humorless military "dictatorships", apopleptic with envy of and paranoid over persecution by the wealthy, wily West. This explains the ludicrous pretense that they are merely republics with extraordinarily stable executive preferences.

But in this usage, "dictator" is merely a euphemism for "tyrant", meant to imply as much by the Associated Press without compromising its veneer of impartiality, which the CIA finds so helpful for programming rubes. Calling every Dear Leader without a crown a "dictator" implies that the arc of history bends towards republics, something even Mr. Fukuyama is now embarrassed to assert. If we simply acknowledged them as kings, they might relax with all the goose-stepping and worry a bit more about bread and sitcoms.

Yarvin solves the terminology problem by settling on "prince", which seems best: #5: the land, its people and their dogs

The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for widespread use.

British regulator, the MHRA, says the jab, which offers up to 95% protection against C0VlD-19 illness, is safe for rollout next week.

Immunisations could start within days for those who need it the most, such as elderly, vulnerable patients.

The UK has already ordered 40m doses - enough to vaccinate 20m people.

Around 10m doses should be available soon, with the first 800,000 arriving in the UK in the coming days.

It is the fastest ever vaccine to go from concept to reality, taking only 10 months to follow the same developmental steps that normally span a decade.

Bill Gates... "If we do a good job on the vaccines, we can reduce the population of humans by 10-15%." Perhaps taken out of context. Perhaps a freudian slip.

I will translate:
6.5 to 9 billion people is growth. Of about 38%.
"We can reduce THAT"
"That" refers to growth of population.
Parler seems to not know what reduction of population
and reduction of growth of population means.

If a reader wonders himself what the difference is in reality,
its same as difference between killing living person and using condoms.

However poster is on parler is, he lied in what he wanted to look like a quote.

Not a slip, not out of context.

How does a vaccine slow population growth? I'm curious. Sterilization without consent?

That would be the difference between using condoms and being castrated in your sleep.

I swear, the BS cotton masks do nothing. If you truly believe there's a virus problem you should be wearing a surgical mask, your etsy breathable mask isn't gonna do shit. I can't believe people are trying to normalize this shit by making them all cutesy, and accessory like.

Nobody is following any kind of logic it seems, it's all for social asspats. /rant

Fewer child deaths = fewer children per woman. Fewer children per woman = slower population growth.

People in very poor countries have more children because many children don't survive.

Consider this:

In Burkina Faso, a shocking 8.5 per cent of children will die before reaching their fifth birthday; in Haiti, it’s 6.7 per cent. For comparison, in Australia, the same figure is 0.4 per cent.

source: Why Do the Poor Have Large Families?

Not every death is caused by a disease the vaccines we have would protect against, but many are.

Please calm down.
The clip was short cut on purpose. So if there were things included, that were said before, it would have more sense.

Countries with lowest health care and lowest wealth have highest number of children per family.
Many of those children die because of illnesses that developed countries eliminated by vaccines or even just by access to basic health care (if you are against vax) .

2+2 is wealthy countries model.

Access to affordable birth control and birth control education is what most probably this part of lecture was about.
Something that is so basic and obvious for us is not so obvious in poor countries.

Decreasing children mortality via vaccines probably leads to having less children.

Ironically, if you explain to an American conservative that the Constitution is not in fact sacred, but rather, by the very Declaration of Independence, a very dispensable document, and one already destroyed by Lincoln's federalized interpretation thereof, to say nothing of FDR's, then ahistoricus Americanus becomes as outraged as if you had insulted the king in the hearing of a medieval peasant. Thus proving that lese majeste never dies when abolished, but merely migrates to more absurd taboos, such as the proper pronouns for men wearing dresses and wigs. Which, I note, takes us full circle to foppish medieval aristocratic fashion and privilege, milord.

Anacyclosis is not dead but disguised by scale, which requires the organs of a republic to mitigate. The USA's expansion of suffrage to the undocumented and deceased is the apogee of modern democracy, at least until Internet-crypto direct democracy arrives. Thus we behold the madness of demotism, which heralds the return of kings.

Trump, of course, seeks only to revive the Republic. So did pre-Rubicon Caesar.

It didn't work because it couldn't. As Machiavelli observed in his Discourses, nobody has ever figured out that necromantic trick. It always begins with an attempt to revive a loved one, and usually ends in vigorous non-consensual cannibalism. Which is why Augustus had the republic embalmed in state, after carefully removing all its organs.

Makes sense.

Yeah I certainly wasn't promoting what the idiot poster was saying, but the video clip of Gates' own words was quite alarming out of context...

Is he still some great reset commie elite? Yep. Is he publicly advocating for genocide, no, at least not yet.

"Up until December 2020, no mRNA vaccine, drug, or technology platform, had ever been approved for use in humans, and before 2020, mRNA was only considered a theoretical or experimental candidate for use in humans"

No thanks I'll give it a pass.

Exactly it’s a giant genetic engineering experiment and me and you are the guinea pig. The problem is people think it’s like any other vaccine or like a magic potion. It basically works by trying to trick your body into creating the C0VlD-19 spike protein by mimicking the virus.

Kary Mullis, the creator of the polymerase chain reaction process specifically warned of exactly this. I’ve looked at the trials and there is zero evidence this is up to par with the safety of “normal” vaccines.

Unbelievable what is happening. Me and you are gonna have to “prove” that we are not a danger to anybody in order to travel, run a business and to consume goods and services.

The big govt and big pharma can get lost.

This afternoon brought news of a family member back home and a local husband and wife that had been patients of mine for years passing away from the virus. My heart is heavy.

This is just a note to any that might read this and could use a hug or are supporting others that are ill, suffering, lonely, worried, heart broken, scared, anxious, lost... whatever it might be.. You are in my thoughts and meditations.

I am concerned about all of the above.
My grandparents have the virus. They say they are doing OK but I’m worried.
I’m also worried about the vaccine and the government in general. Trust has definitely been lost.
Hope everyone is getting through this tough time.

Yes you need to get vacinated for the "collective" good. I know people who can't wait for it. They read 95% effective and that's good enough for them.

I can see it coming. The vaccine won't be mandatory. But if you want to be able to access public indoor areas, events, restaurants, travel, you'll need your "health passport" showing proof of your vaccination. Businesses will be required to enforce it. No vaccine no entry. I hope not but i wouldn't be suprised anymore.

I have decided to replace the meaning of the word "hard" with "fun".

I expect dialogues to unfold like this.

Me - ...and so, that's the company I want to create.
Someone - But it's going to be extremely hard fun!
Me - I know right!! Can't wait to get started.

It sounds like a paradox. If your chances of success increase the harder it is, doesn’t that mean it’s easier to be successful if it’s harder?

Likewise the converse says it’s harder to become successful the easier it is.

A good example that would fit into the Russell-Zermelo paradox. Contradictory but consistent within the set.

The vaccine sounds bad. When Big Pharma bangs Big Gov, the resulting bastard is Big Evil squared. In fact, pressure for results over standard ethical procedures is how C0VlD-19 got released in the first place... I'm sure injecting everyone with the "cure" will go wonderfully.

Ironic that its efficacy is lower than COVID's survival rate. All that's necessary to protect oneself is to just take some vitamin D and sunshine! And treatments have gotten much better. But of course the land of TSA must have its security theater.

However, anti-maskers don't mean it. None of them will accept a duel at 5 paces, to receive a sneeze from an Ebola patient, patient masked for me, unmasked for thee. Variolation isn't just from vaccines; the winner of the immune system's wars depends strongly on the size of the initial dose. Masks would help if C0VlD-19 didn't exist; plenty of virii do.

Like debris accumulating in orbit, eventually man will tinker enough to unleash some seriously severe circulating virii. COVID's persistent recurrence suggests it has joined permanent circulation, although fortunately it's not severe. It's the first bio-Chernobyl, and everyone is scared silly by the novelty of fallout.

Vitamin D insufficiency may account for almost 90% of C0VlD-19 deaths (mdpi.com)

You missed this from late August. Rct, calcifediol administered to hospitalized patients. Absolutely massive effect on ICU admission.
There have been three RCT I know of. Another calcifediol study showed a big impact. An oral supplement study on hospitalized patients did not. Presumably because oral supplements take a while to change levels whereas calcifediol does not.
