And I'm not asking about the ethical implications of this. I'm asking if people think this is good business or not. Their policy made me think 'well I'll never buy from them,' and even if I was going to buy from a local shop (i have a few times) it will be from the second guys.
Guess it depends on the margins for the labor and the type of volume they're doing. We may never know.
Who knows, maybe doing your mount for $50 they will end up losing $250 from a guy who bought the tires there. A part of me says "a customer is a customer" but you really never know the details until you have the numbers.

Well I would feel bad if they weren't making a decent profit on it. Maybe from now on I'll use the TireRack recommended installers. Maybe it's that they make profit on both, but since they made more profit on tires that were purchased there they were just weighing the opportunity costs.

Take it to Sears and, if they ask, say they look new because you only drove them on carpet before putting them away for mid-Summer tire season.

Take it to Sears
Ha Ha, does he have a time machine too? I think the last time I saw a Sears was when I was 16 stocking its shelves.

The reason some companies have these policies is because they don't know where the tire came from. And mounting it gives them some liability later on. What if you had bought these "new" tires on craigslist and the seller had these tires sitting in his garage for 6 years in horrible conditions and they are compromised some how.

I got one 5 miles from the house. Auto center is still there, too. I believe it is slated to close soon, though. Nothing worse than a Sears Automotive waiting room.

I went to the Sears(somehow still open) near my childhood home last week and that place is a ghost town.

I went in to take a look at the craftsman tools and they are expensive. No wonder they couldn't stay in business. The clothes they sell look hideous and are expensive.

They have areas in the store that are completely empty of inventory.

They didn't do a good job at getting customers in the door and changing to millennials tastes.

Before that the last time I was in a Sears was with my dad when I was like 15. Other than that I found no reason why I should seek one out and go there. Epic fail.

That's strange. They're nothing like that around here. I'll take pictures next time I'm there. They're always really busy, have good prices and the shelves are fully stocked. Just a regular store around here.

I guess this topic is the most appropriate place to post it. I just want to share this short interview I saw today. The singer of this new band explains how they started their band:
"One day we just thought let's start a band, so we did."
I know starting a band is not fast lane, but I love this attitude of taking action.

I'm sort of fascinated by what will be uncovered now with Epstein's death. I can see a guy like that committing suicide but on the other hand I can see him being helped along. Although, apparently him being dead isn't making any of what they've uncovered about any associates go away, so I'm not sure of the purpose of offing him. Probably suicide.

I think I went to Sears once in the last 10 years. Ours has closed here now but when I lived in another state, the Sears there carried Land's End clothes. All their other clothes were crapola but I still have and wear some of the Land's End stuff like 12 years later.

Elections in Argentina, yai, new president (not really yet, it's a preliminary election).

Anyhow, "the markets" didn't like the winner, so the next day ? 30% currency value drop.

The product i'm selling ? Now i'm selling it 30% cheaper.

I can increase my price 30%? well yeah, but my customers didn't got a 30% raise on their salary too (thanks MJ cause i'm an entrepreneur or i 'll be on the same situation as them).

politics, the markets... it's all really a scam

With the yield curve inversion looming...

Interesting story I read:

There was once a man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs. He was hard of hearing so he had no radio - he had trouble with his eyes, so he read no newspapers and of course he didn't look at television. But he sold very good hot dogs. He put up signs on the highway telling everyone how good they were, he stood on the side of the road and cried out to all that past 'buy a hot dog, they are the best in town'.

And people bought his hot dogs and he increased his meat and bun orders. He bought a bigger stove to take care of all the extra business. He finally got his son to come and help him out with his business.

But then something happened, his son who had been well educated said . . . ' Father, haven't you been listening to the radio or reading the newspapers or watching television? There's a big recession happening right now. The current business situation is terrible in this country - we have problems with unemployment, high living costs, strikes, pollution, the influence of minorities and majorities, the rich, the poor, drugs, alcohol, capitalism and communism '.

Where upon his father thought, ' well my son's been well educated, he reads the papers, listens to the radio and watches television, so he ought to know '.

So his father cut down on his meat and bun orders, took down all his advertising signs and no longer bothered to stand by the side of the road to promote and sell his hot dogs, . . . . and his hot dog sales fell almost overnight.

I can't remember the last time I was so interested in something that didn't personally affect me.

Epstein being dead is a HUGE relief to a lot of people I think. I'm sure things will still be uncovered though. But I'm surprised people believe he committed suicide.

I don't want to sound like a nut, but I personally believe he was involved with intelligence communities and his role was basically to blackmail people etc. Ghislaine Maxwell isn't a curious connection at all lol. James Ellroy eat your heart out.

Also being reported he wasn't a billionaire (although still worth over 500 mil). Lots of people still unsure how he made all that money though. Real life Gatsby.. the whole thing stinks and makes me sick.

But actually I've researched this. It's way cool. You can get the shipping containers for $2000 each, and there are some really cool things you can do with them.

I think it's an awesomely innovative use of existing resources.
Shipping containers for only 2k?

I used to work as a container inspector at a wharf that was exporting grains from Australia. Not sure how much I would trust what kind of quality you would get for that price (pretty low probably) but I'm going back almost 10 years now.

Eh, I think people are weak enough that they do stuff like that without it being a setup. More like an idiot trap than a honey trap.

Vancouver, BC.

I had this idea for a while, but of course someone has already made it.

It's such a simple product: it's literally double walled thermos, but a smaller size.
Slap logo on it, brand, good video and copy - have yourself a business (there's little to no design/prototyping involved).

Already $100k+ backed up.

What is it wit these money obsessed sex crazed people? Don’t they know how to have fun and let loose? This I think comes from a scripted or fixed mindset thinking money or sex will give you fulfillment. Feeling into your body and doing what you LOCE will give you what you need. When you do that you have no need to harm others as you are so focused on your love and passion along with the people in your life you love doing it with.
