Python or Ruby on Rails

Hey guys,

I really want to learn how to create bots so that I can automate some of my menial tasks using twitter and certain SEO ideas. Anyways my question is does anyone know which platform is better to learn on: Ruby on Rails, or Python? Also does anyone have any great sites to learn these platforms on?
