A small but important progress update for me:

I have made contact with my first prospective clients for copywriting services. I am soliciting myself as a knowledgeable beginner, and am offering free services in exchange for honest feedback around perceived value. This is one of the ways I'm combating the desert of desertion as I learn.

I have this nasty habit of living in my head, and never actually doing the good ideas I come up with. It feels really good to change that for once, even if right now it's not financially productive. I have spent considerable time on Udemy learning the techniques for copywriting, modifying and creating ads in different industries, studying the work of other copywriters, and so on. I'm ready for my first test. It is a solid self-esteem boost to know that I can independently create value for people without the umbrella of a corporate structure.

I will update again once some of this has played out.

- Cheers

I debated this myself before I did it. I'd question the ethics behind charging people for something I'm inexperienced in. I'd rather do a slow build on the reputation by creating value disproportionate to what I'm asking for.

First copy client confirmed. Conditional that if he is satisfied with the product, he will keep me top of his list for future needs. Will also spread the word.
