Publishing Info

I'm switching gears into the wonderful and often whacky world of publishing
(first novel out in May).

Is there any interest in postings about book publishing, marketing, sales, etc?

I feel guilty sitting on all this learning
but I don't know if this is the right forum to brain dump on.

If there's interest or MJ, if you think it will add value,
let me know (and where to post will be helpful).
I'll likely do one long post.

Feel free, publishing (a derivative of direct marketing) is Fastlane ... for now, I'd post in the General Section. I was going to create a forum on Publishing (because my book covers it a lot) but didn't want to go there until we had enough folks interested in that line of work. When that happens, I can always move related topics into that area. Post away ...

Well, the way I'm doing it
(going through an established publisher)
isn't really fast.

Though... come to think of it,
I get royalties of 30%
which if you look at any other product launch,
30% gross margin with no capital required
(marketing is required though... if you want decent sales)
is respectable.

MJ, as I understand it,
you're non-fiction right?
My posts will be more slanted towards fiction.
I think the combo of the two will be beneficial.

Plus a product launch is a product launch.
The knowledge can be applied elsewhere.

My kiddo has done some writing and came to me with questions about publishing. I have absolutely no clue about any of that. Would be all ears if you are interested in posting your experiences. Thanks for the offer Kimberland and MJ.
