Appreciate the share ... but I can't say the article impressed me.

I don't agree with the authors contention ... that you should live your life "not giving a F*ck" about anyone else.

Most people who truly don't give a F*ck ... tend to be skid row losers.

You have to give a F*ck ... about a lot of things ...

Not everything ... nor everyone ... but "giving a F*ck" about things that matter ... matters.

I think the author was (really) trying to impress us with his "F*ck per word count" ratio ... but to honest ... there is little to no shock value in the word "F*ck" these days.

If anything ... much like a cymbal crash in an orchestra ... the more you use it ... the less effective it becomes.

In other words ... "selectively" dropping the F-Bomb can add a well placed exclamation point to a sentence ... but its overuse ... has the exact opposite effect.

Not impressed.

(Re) read the last paragraph about the the deathbed....

12 minute read ...? I don't think so.

If it takes 12 minutes to convey your blog post's message ... it had better be Pulitzer prize material.

Way too long.

When writing ... you have to get the readers attention ... and then KEEP their attention.

This article did not do that ... not for me, at least.

Long short ... I really have no interest in investing another 10 minutes of my time reading through to the end.

If you can't get the readers attention ... and keep their attention ... what appears at the end ... of anything you write ... really doesn't matter.

You may be right ... and if so ... great.

I am not familiar with his work.

I'm just saying ... in this article ... he lost the reader.

If there was a point to his article ... beyond what I read in the first two minutes ... he should have gotten to it sooner.

You know you could have scrolled down to the big bold letters that started each point he was making?

Could have ... but whose's responsibility is it to entice me to do that ...?

His ... or mine ...?

His blog post ... his responsibility.

Thanks for the share! The title of the thread threw me off for a minute haha. It's typically just 'NSFW' , not 'Not SFW'.

I know this from.. um.. experience.. yeah.. experience..

I'm going to slowly and quietly exit the thread now..

Yeah, it usually takes some really heavy shit to happen in my life for me to reflect immediately afterwards and think

'Man, 90% of this is all bullshit.'

You clearly didn't read the article. Why even comment on something that you didn't read? BRB gonna go give amazon review on 3 books I read the title of.

Waste two minutes of my time -- shame on you.

Waste 12 minutes of my time -- shame on me.

I don't need to "read it all the way through to the end" to form an opinion.

About two minutes in ... I was unimpressed ... and my mind was made up.

Time to cut my loss ... and move on.

Here's another way of looking at it ...

Remember that movie "Freddie Got Fingered" by Tom Green ...?

I do ... unfortunately.

The movie SUCKED.

Sucked so bad ... I turned it off ... and didn't stick around for the ending.

I can think of plenty of movies like that.

Turned it off ... changed the channel ... or simply walked out of the theater.

Does that mean I shouldn't comment on the movie ... because I didn't watch it all the way through to the end ...?

Of course not.

Well ... same here.

It's the author's job to get -- and then keep -- the reader's attention.

If the copy is not well written ... and can't hold the reader's attention ... don't blame the reader.

Blame the author.

Moving on ...
