This is a continuation of this thread.
As I stated there, my dad is a chiropractor and an acupuncturist. My idea is to create a web community based around holistic medicine. In addition to chiropractic and acupuncture, this would include such treatments as massage therapy, yoga, touch therapy, and a few others.
As of now, I will use a blog to drive traffic to the site. I'm hoping that I will be able to get my dad to write (or at least assist with) articles. Having an experienced, licensed professional would go a long way in building a brand and gaining respect.
I will also house a forum. I have yet to decide whether I will incorporate the forum from the start, or if it will become an addition as we grow.
In order to monetize the traffic that I receive, I will incorporate a lead generation system within the site itself. Additionally, I will offer advertising space (either AdSense or privately...not sure yet) on blog and forums.
This is still a work in progress, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to officially start once I'm done with SATs (March 1st). I'm going to try to get started beforehand. I will be working with Tom and Apto Hosting, of course, and I wouldn't even bother trying anybody else. He's been a great help throughout, and I look forward to working with him (hopefully sooner rather than later).
