Weekly Update – Trying to Build a Sustainable Routine
Another week has gone by.
This week I built a small app for myself using Claude, an Excel spreadsheet, and a script to create the interface.
It's nothing complicated. Basically, it's a simple task manager that I can use to plan and track the things I need to do every day.
I wanted to create something that would help me stay more consistent.
The funny thing is that, despite building a tool to help me execute, I didn't actually do much of what I had planned this week.
I'm still stuck in the same phase where I know what I should be doing, but I'm struggling to actually move forward.
I haven't made any real progress on the store for my digital products either.
The Agency
Things are going pretty well with the agency.
I'm still doing the same type of work, but I'm gradually getting more freedom with some clients. I'm now managing a few accounts almost completely on my own.
This is probably one of the most valuable parts of the experience for me because I'm getting to learn by actually managing clients and campaigns rather than just studying the theory.
The Real Problem: Time
The hardest part right now is balancing everything.
I have my regular job, the agency, and then I want to work on my own projects on top of all of that.
The routine can feel pretty heavy.
I've been trying to use rewards to keep myself motivated. For example, I'll tell myself that if I stick to my routine during the week, I'll reward myself with a Sunday off, drinks with friends, or dinner somewhere.
The problem is that I'm basically allowing myself one reward per week, and sometimes that isn't enough to keep me going until the end of the week.
I often start strong, but somewhere along the way I lose momentum and don't finish the routine I had planned.
This is probably something I need to rethink.
Maybe the solution isn't simply pushing myself harder, but finding a routine that I can actually sustain for months without constantly feeling like I'm waiting for the next reward.
For now, I'm still trying to figure that out.
