Hello guys, my name is Marko, currently 19 years old and I am an aspiring entrepreneur. I’ve read The Millionaire Fastlane and am currently reading Unscripted . These books have really opened my eyes and have shifted my perspective on life. Last year I decided to drop out of university after completing my first year as I just didn’t believe it was worth the price to be paid in terms of money and more importantly time, the value I got out of that first year and $10,000 was certainly not worth it. Paying thousands of dollars on textbooks while everything was on the internet and having to take mandatory science courses in the first year for a business program didn’t make sense to me. Anyways during the summer I took the time to really think about what I wanted to do with my life, and weighed all the pros and cons of continuing or dropping out and came to the conclusion to drop out. I got a full-time job and started learning to code while also reading a lot on business and focusing on self improvement. Due to vaccine mandates I lost my job this February. I have a good amount of savings so for the past 1-2 months I have been building up my skill set. I went from only understanding HTML, CSS and little Javascript to learning more of the backend with Node, Express, MongoDB and now learning React. While I of course don’t have a very deep knowledge in each of these technologies yet, I have learned so much including problem solving and figuring things out. Developing a mastery oriented mindset has helped me a lot. I decided to learn these skills because after reading TMF I started thinking about what kind of business to pursue and in the book I learned how big of an impact software can have and how scalable it is. Building a SaaS or doing something involved in SaaS(ex. business development agency) is what I have been thinking about. I still have lots to learn. I’ve become aware that I will have to learn some more important skills such as selling, marketing, etc, if I am to be successful. I'm an introverted person but I won’t let this stop me from learning how to sell. A lot of my fears are just delusions not based on logic but stupidity. This forum has already provided me with immense value just from a few threads I've read, I’m very grateful and hope to contribute some value as well. Still have a long way to go and look forward to being in this forum.
