I'm both laughing and feeling sorry for him because he's a long time friend. Makes me want to go out and pay for his food, but at the same time makes me want to not associate with him anymore. Blowing 10,000 on food and video games ain't cool dude...

Don't judge him. His life's path is different and wholly unique. Keep focusing on your goals and if you can extend a hand, do so.

I would assume if he's living with his parents, must be a younger person. The way you make it sound, he's grounded. Lacking money or just grounded. If he still has a job, I wouldn't make a big fuss about it. You live and learn. I'm sure somewhere along the way you've lost as much money in different ways without adding it up.
