What is everyone's thoughts on co-living with a bunch of other entrepreneurs?

I am considering moving in with a group in boston (MIT area). Its offered by a service called Krash.

I was watching an interview where an entrepreneur lived among Dane Maxwell and others. he said it was awesome for accountability, networking, staying focused, etc

"you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with"

if you are around other committed entrepreneurs 24/7, you will no doubt be influenced by them.

Start an entrepreneur house.

In 2012, I drove across the country and moved into an apartment with a friend from college who was also interested in online business. He spent most nights/weekends meeting girls..which isn't a problem because that was what his main focus was. I made some progress, but not as quickly as I would have liked

I then did this again with 2 members of the forum for the last 6 months: Two of us grew our business to the point where we quit our jobs, the third was already making an income on his own and he benefited from it as well.

Three weeks from now, I will be moving to a different part of the country to do this entrepreneur house with another forum member, and expect great results from it.

I don't think you can go wrong moving in with like-minded people who are equally, if not more, driven and creative as yourself. The benefits you mentioned above are all on-point, so if you were in the market for a new place to begin with, I say "go for it."

Great area, you could possibly even host entrepreneur meet ups for all of us Bostonian fastlaners ha.

I think you should do it! I was just talking about this with someone, and if I had the flexibility to do so I would pack my clothes and do this in a heartbeat. I don't see how it could be a bad deal.
Do it!

Yeah it would be great to the idea sounds good.
But why do you have to move in with a bunch of folk with the same mindset?
You dont have to move anywhere this very screen you are looking at has a search bar where you can google almost everything and anything you will need in the business world and in a lot of your ventures.
If you want something enough you will get it done no excuses and no more bullshit.

That's true D11FYY,

I think it is an incredible idea due to the support and type of environment it would produce. Nothing like being in it. Being hands on.

I rely on this forum for a lot of support that I wish I could get from people I knew personally in my day to day life.
I imagine my journey would be different and BETTER if I had it....Maybe FASTER too.

I think this type of housing situation would be a very beneficial asset to cultivating entrepreneurs who are laser focused, driven, and just altogether on the same page.

I get texts every single day asking me to go here and there, to socialize and party. All of my friends are calling me lame and boring now. They don't get it. And I can't explain it to them. The energy is different and not good really. Because they make me feel like I need to EXPLAIN myself as to why I don't want to hang out.

This is why I would want to do it at least.

Hi @AndrewNC ! How are you doing? I've read in the forum that you've done this with JasonR and have been curious for a while. Can you give us some tips? Do you have some sort of ground rules? Do you set weekly goals and set some punishments for poor results?

Or is it just like living with a family member? Just working the whole day and talk casually after work?

Is it required to be working on a related business? Like ecommerce?

Hey,

The rules/requirements are whatever you want to make it. It's not like some set program, just a group of people from this forum with common goals, living together. What are you looking to get out of it? That should be your deciding factor for how you structure it.

When we first met at B&P 2013 - We were more towards the starting phases, and at that point, accountability was important (because it is easy to give up when you dont see results), so we had weekly meetings with accountability goals/punishments if we slacked.

Leaving that entrepreneur house, we now have a profitable businesses and don't need the same type of accountability that we needed a year ago, because growing a business or losing your source of income is motivation enough not to slack.

Starting out, some of us had jobs, others didnt, we had different businesses, etc. In the future, I would see myself benefiting the most with other people working on similar businesses... because that is the area that will help me the most right now.

Are you just starting out and need accountability? Set it up for that
Do you want to get better at marketing? Start a house with people who are learning marketing?
Do you want to get better at Apps? Start a house with app developers.

It's whatever works best for your needs.

Thanks a lot Andrew! It makes more sense to me now.

I agree!

the main things would be accountability, support, and being around others who have the same plan/goals.

something like this isn't necessary to succeed, but it can definitely help.

But why do you have to move in with a bunch of folk with the same mindset?

I don't have to. it's just a lot better then living with a bunch of people with a 9-5, party all weekend mindset.

Interacting face to face and on a daily basis is 10x more meaningful, impactful, etc.
Sure the forum is great, but I've honestly gotten more out of a single day meeting with fastlaners than on a month's worth of the forum. They really don't compare.

Having said that, I like very defined 'me' time and very defined 'people' time, and home life is definitely me time, so I'm not sure I could survive a house like that.

Yeah definitely the feel good buzz of people talking about things that fulfill your interests I totally get that, but what I'm meaning is for anyone who is like Oh i have to do this.. Seriously don't go to a house meet thinking thats success is on its way or will come through this.. You still will have to do it on your own
