Do it!
Upon creating the title for this thread I already see multiple threads asking whether to move out or not, what would be best etc. Since I am now in the middle of it and seeing the differences so clearly I thought it might be helpful to show why you should just go for it.
Before I wanted to move out I didn't do it because just as you, I probably had 1000 excuses for it. I would be able to save less money, it would probably be less comfortable(momma doing your laundry is very handy of course
) I want to make clear that everyone is in a different situation regarding the relationship with their parents, financial situation etc, please make your own decision(but I'll get to that point!).
Let's go! Here are my biggest lessons from moving out:
1: Enjoying the process,
With moving out I subconsciously started to realise that I am pretty young(23), and I hopefully have many years to create and work on my vision of this life. Moving out has given me more respect for the time I have and has made me more patient in certain parts of the process. From an entrepreneurial perspective this has made certain things *click* and much more fun, and gave me a much larger vision for the long term. Maybe this is years of mindset development finally being able to flourish, so make sure you work on that when living at home. Problems and trouble are a standard given in life, and how you handle them and take the lessons from them is what matters.
2: Taking pride in your own thoughts,
It's hard to explain this since it's just a new "feeling" since I've moved out, but this evening I was sleeping at my parents place and I realised that my mind was so full with these NOW controversial routines/thoughts. Suddenly I was stressing about certain jobs when laying in bed, whether something might go wrong or not and I noticed that I was in the habit of discussing and talking about the threats of certain stuff with my parents. This is all just routine! So you might not even notice how much you are actually sabotaging yourself, there might be some caged up lion inside of your mind that wants to be set free! But that doesn't happen because.... well what would your parents think of this?
Moving out will make you be better at making your own decision, take responsibility for them and learning from it all.
3: Gratefulness,
Now that I have truly found out first of all, how hard it is to find an affordable home, what kind of rooms/places people actually live in and the monthly bills of it all(groceries are goddamn expensive lol). It has made me more grateful for my parents and I respect the hard work that they've always put in to make sure my brother and I had food on our plates. Before I would try to understand why certain people didn't want a Fastlane life, or try to convince them to get after it. Now I am more grateful for the things that they have done and not what they could have done, I do understand the Fastlane life and I am the one willing to put in the sacrifice. So now it's up to me to change their lifes and give back.
All in all there are many micro lessons, which I might not even notice. These were the biggest 3, I want to end the start of this thread by saying that there is never a perfect time for moving out(or starting a business, or any major life decision). And yes it might be less comfortable but that's all part of the story, DM me if you have thought about moving out and just want to discuss your situation. We'll find out what's holding you back and whether it's a true roadblock or just you being scared of it
As always, thanks for reading.
