So this idea came to me last night.
I live in a town with a lot of seasonal rentals. The town population about doubles for half the year. There are thousands of condos here where for half the year rent for a 1 bedroom less than 1,000 Sq ft is over $3,000 per month, and the other half of the year it is $1300.
My idea is for a website that lists only seasonal rentals in the city. This way it would be a go to for those looking for seasonal rentals and not be mixed with the clutter on craigslist or other sites.
The website could also have information about the area for the seasonal visitors, things to do, food, events, etc.
How can this be monetized? Charge a small fee for rental listings or leads? Ads? Coupons or promos with local business?
I can go to the local real estate and condo offices around here and get listings on the website.
I can write up my own reviews of restaurants, activities, etc.
Any good ways to monetize this? First goal would be to get $100 per month, then $1000.
