I was curious how people here deal with health issues / illnesses that they can't really control but are detrimental to their personal development, career and progress.
I will illustrate this on my personal issue. I know most people will not be able to relate to this personally, as I have not yet found a single person with a similar problem.
In a nutshell - dry mouth / lack of saliva and a coated, 'furry', cracked tongue for more than 5 years (or as long as I can remember). Based on endless research, in more scientific terms - xerostomia and oral hyperkeratosis. Pictures attached.
As you can probably imagine, this condition makes it very problematic / uncomfortable for me to speak (I know, crazy). Obviously, communication is the most important part of everyday life - and if we take it one step further, successful business. This problem has limited me for such a long time and in such a great extent.
As the saying goes, "A healthy person has many wishes. A sick person has only one". I spent incredible amount of time, effort and resources trying to find the root of my condition, without any luck.
I won't go into any detail here, as this is not the right forum, would be boring for you to read and wouldn't provide any benefit to future users / people with a somewhat similar issue.
Rather, as I already mentioned in the first part - how would you personally deal with an issue that you are unable to control and is really a limiting factor in being successful in life ?
