Good night. I appreciate the opportunity to participate in the forum. I am a public servant in Brazil. Military firefighter. I am reading the fastline millionaires book. I notice that my mindset regarding work, money and time has changed. Here in Brazil many people are encouraged to work in the public service. I served in the army for 6 years and almost 16 years in the Fire Department. Although it's a very honorable profession, it takes my time. I confess that I had never dreamed of being a firefighter. I try to carry out my work with zeal. But I am willing to return to my old dream of working with electronics and programming. I am 41 years old. But I want to take the risks of learning and growing. Even though I know I can fail. I have always admired those who undertake. I always accepted the idea that public service would be enough. But MJ DeMarco's book made me uneasy. I think about this subject every day. I am married and I have two kids. A 16-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. I changed my speech about work to my son. I no longer encourage my son to take part in the public examination. I tell him there are countless possibilities. I am so grateful to God for having this new understanding. I want to pursue wealth as a tool of freedom. Not as an end in itself. I want to learn new things and implement ideas to solve people's problems. One detail, I'm not fluent in English, but I will be. I am writing this text with the help of the Google translator. But learning this language is on the list of skills I want to acquire. Thank you very much.
