Have you guys heard of the maximum pain theory?

It evolves around the fact that market makers manipulate the stock market for their own gains. They do this buy finding the most common open options trade strike price, say it's 50 for a certain equity by the end of the day / week / month etc.

Then they manipulate the price to fall as close to as possible onto that price so the buyers lose the maximum amount of money, and they gain.

Sounds plausible to me. This is something new to me, and I've only been looking at the result of this since last Friday (one day, haha), but the idea alone, sounds plausible.
