Marijuana is one of the most underestimated drugs.

Every single person I met that smoked a lot is filled with dumb superficial ideas about the world and people. They think its genius when they come up with the ideas while they are high and after a while they believe in that stuff even when they are not smoking.
Seriously Ive seen 130iq + people getting F*ckd by weed.

Other disadvantage is that for most people its very hard to stay disciplined or motivated while using or after using weed.

If you dont care about your time go ahead and smoke. But if you want to learn how beautiful life is and how many magnificent things you can do with your life then resort to weed for max 1 time a year
That was a really good answer my friend. I have common points with you, but I'm a little curious. From what place are you talking this?
From a place of experience with weed yourself or only observation of other people? And could you please clarifiy the "dumb superficial ideas abouth the world and people?"

Just for curiosity, not judging in any way :)

This was one thing that I noticed in the past say 5-10 years in meeting people. In the past I don't think people talked about smoking weed as openly. But it seems to be a cool thing to say now and do.

Anyway, in a business context I've come across alot of people that just did not get it. I would explain things to them, mostly logical things or simple math calculations, like @snowbank 's +EV stuff, or just whatever they had a question about. In the back of my mind as these people could not grasp the concept, I could not figure out why. So I began to create a hypothesis that these people just weren't smart enough to grasp the concept. And I thought it was just because they were not smart.

But afterwards, I would find out that many of these people were pot smokers, or did drugs when they were younger or heavy club goers and drinkers. This brought me back to the "drugs kill brain cells" campaigns that they used to have. I've always wondered if these people would be alot sharper in their old age (30+) than they are if they have never done drugs.

Nowadays, when I meet someone and I talk to them, I can kind of get a sense if they've done drugs in the past. Again, this is just a feeling I get, but I've been fairly accurate with it. It's not that they are stupid, but they are just not sharp. Ever talk to someone that seemed smart, but not sharp?

Another thing that has been discussed is that getting high or drunk/buzzed just kills your productivity. I've had friends/people on this forum that I think are smart, but they can't get things done in a timely manner. I check in with them and they haven't gotten any shit done in 6 months!

The Don'ts:

- Don't blow off your friends or boy/girlfriend just because you want to go home and get high
- Try to use it as a reward as much as possible, not as an excuse to not do what you gotta do. At the very least, get high while doing what you gotta do.
- When high, don't F*cking feel guilty, enjoy the moment, you are not doing anything wrong to anybody!
- Don't believe it is necessary for your "happiness" or well-being. It's not.
EXACTLY this! It really depends on your intention to use it.

I personally don't like to smoke even once a week because I know from experience that I'm more productive, alert and focused without being high. But every 15 days or so I like to roll a joint (do not even smoke it all, only 4-5 puffs and I'm good) and reflect on my life, where I'm at in relation to my goals, what I can do to make it better, etc. And to make it clear I DO reflect on the same subjects while I'm sober pretty much everyday 15 min before I sleep - sort of meditation.

And for those of you saying that weed makes you a lazy F*ck with no drive towards your goal I can see your point. Many of my friends who are really potheads are like that. But I think it's more a reflection of who you are and not the substance in general. That's right, weed makes you more relaxed, etc but in my case I set a intention before I smoke and I actually get MORE energized to do whatever I set up my mind to do.

Yesterday, for example, after a long week of executing my process and pursuing my goals EVERYDAY without fail I rewarded myself with 1,5 hours to just chill and search some things that were interesting to me. Before I fire up I was quite exhausted (it was around 10:30pm) but when I got high and started to reflect I got 2 ideas that PUMPED THE SHIT OUT OF ME! I got so excited that I didn't even see the time flying by and ended up going to bed at 3 am. No problem with that because it was worth every minute I stayed awake since It shifted the way I'm conducting my business right now.

Before I got to sleep I wrote everything that I had come up with in my journal and woke up this morning executing it ALL.

Now you tell me I'm a stupid lazy motherfcker that smokes weed to scape my shameless reality...

C'mon guys, lets keep an open mind about LIFE. It's not always black and white. If you had a bad experience with it its just YOUR experience. The meaning you give to things shapes your perception of reality.

Not hating on anyone, just wanted to make some guys understand that you don't need to prove other person wrong to be right...

Keep crushing! ;)

I got a medical marijuana card for chronic pain. I haven't used any yet nor have a been to the store. Was thinking about trying some maybe in the morning to help with anxiety from lack of sleep. But only if there was a kind that made me have more energy. Similar to caffeine but without the nasty side effects that caffeine has. Or I could find a kind that helps me sleep so I am well rested the next day.

For all of you saying that its bad because it's a drug and it gets you high maybe you should look at your caffeine dependence and tell me that you aren't getting high on a drug and that you aren't dependent on it to be productive in the morning.

If I find out I can use weed for the same purpose that you use caffeine then who are you to judge me? Plus it's not illegal for me to do it so you can't play that card.

Still haven't decided if I even want to try it. Just because it would cost money to do so. I'm currently trying other things to help my quality of life. Most ways also cost money and I've tried all of the free options.

Just get the right strain... Indica to sleep and Sativa for energy.

Contrary to popular belief Marijuana is a stimulant!

Pure sativa strains won't give you the couch-lock effect, and are known to enhance creativity. As far as caffeine goes, if you're a heavy coffee drinker, try supplementing with L-Theanine (Suntheanine brand esp. - you can buy at Wal Mart). For me it completely eliminates those jitters and smooths out the inevitable crash. Alternatively, switch to teas like Green or Yerba Mate. Much easier on the body.

Should I use it on a monthly basis? Even during my most chronic use I never felt like my life was TOO terribly effected and I want my fast lane lifestyle to include occasional use. On the other hand, if it means missing out on the lifestyle I chose for myself Its something that must go. Input please?
Just from observation and knowing people who used marijuana, I've never seen any of them be successful. Usually they end up using other drugs, alcohol, and usually have many addictions. Really it's self-medicating your depression and anxiety. If you're an extrovert, you're probably more prone to addictions then if you were an introvert, since you need more dopamine and rewards.

Frankly, any addiction leads to another addiction, until you understand the difference between forming bad habits and trading them for good.

Not saying you can't be stoned and be creative, but long term if you don't deal with your emotions and feelings, you end up losing out because your mind isn't clear and focused. I suppose you're more dreamy and spacey.

The people who are chronic smokers will do you more harm than the smoking itself...you're still young and part of growing up is experimenting and learning what you can control in your life and what pushes you to a darker side.

You might want to read my story in the success story category I guess you could say I've got some insight on this subject.

Ultimately you are either running your own show or someone or something else is. You will find that the right decision will come to you.

I recently gave up drinking completly, something I thought I would never do for the social aspect but it became a very easy decision for me when the time was right, there was just a million reasons why I felt I didn't have a place for alcohol in my life anymore.

But it's a personal decision, life is a grey area, moderation and common sense are your friend, a true desire to achieve success will become your guiding light...
100 %. All throughout my teens and adolescence I would smoke weed regularly, and experiment a lot with different substances and experiences.
As I grew older, I started to notice patterns forming, especially in the sense that my 'friends' were going no-where in life. So I started to distance myself from them and work out what I wanted and what's important to me.
While I don't regret the experiences I have, I realised that if you continue to socialise heavily with people who are headed to life of mediocrity, inevitably, you will end up there too.

Once you get clear on your vision and where you want to go and who you want to be in life, cutting off negative influences gets a lot easier.
