Lost in the Cold Waters of Life (I need guidance)

I’m 18 and don’t come from a good household. My dad died when I was 6 and my mother is a raging alcoholic. I’m recovering from a bad hand injury (split my hand open & ruptured 2 tendons) I’m really struggling with life. I can’t work for at least another month because my surgery was 8 weeks ago. There’s no permanent damage but it really sucks. I’m able to drive and write now. Anyway, I’m really worried about the future. I don’t want to just be miserable forever like my mother. I want to live a life I couldn’t otherwise. I’m going to be completely honest, I don’t know where to start. I’ve read both of your books (multiple times) MJ, I originally joined the form back in February 2019. I’m no closer now than I was back then. I haven’t done shit. I’m totally willing to commit to becoming Unscripted . Can someone please tell me about there early days before they went off of one of there ideas. Ideas are everywhere I just haven’t chosen one. So many options, it’s overwhelming. I really would like to help people. I feel like I’m just wasting my time because I can never get started. I just throw around ideas like an idiot. I’m not gonna post one thread and leave I really do need this. Can someone please reflect on this?

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Understand many have come from far worse and made it so don't leave your past define you. So how bad do you want it? When you are are able get out cutting lawns or whatever to make a buck...just start!

BTW you are only 18 pal so live a little and don't be so worried about the future, tbf the whole world is worried about the future right now lol!

Okay listen, first things first. I started at 17/18 like you and let me say this: YOU ARE YEARS AHEAD of most people. Not saying that its wrong to get started with your fastlane journey at a later age, but you could literally spend the next 5 years putting effort into something and failing and you will only be 23 years old and still have loads of time (or even better, be making good money).

Nobody here can tell you what to do, but this forum is full of amazing people and resources. I would say you should consider these two paths:

- Find a "unsexy" business thats not a get rich quick scheme and run with that. Without any skills, you are going to need to get into something with a low barrier to entry (think home/commercial service businesses ).

- Find a highly paid skill that interests you and start learning that. This could be digital marketing, web design, web development, etc. Get really good at that skill and then you can start monetizing it. You could learn digital marketing and then open a marketing agency, or use your digital marketing skills to drive traffic to a online business of your choice. Learn web development and open a software dev agency or even build a SaaS. Worst case you can get a job with this skill that will give you money/stability to work on a venture.

Hi and welcome back to the forum.
I can't imagine what you're going through. I'm also 18 but coming from a better background and parents who are kinda supportive. But at least have a great source of motivation.
Like @lobo said you either have to learn something new or go find an unattractive job and just work.
But I think there is also something unique that you already learned. It seems that you maybe hadn't the best childhood and nowadays a lot of people struggle growing up. Maybe try to help people who are in a different spot? Create a blog, a forum, etc. around what to do growing up without a dad or so. There is a big need for something like this. Already proven needs: Man who grew up without a dad makes heartwarming how-to videos for kids (really interesting a heartwarming to read)
I don't know your situation but maybe you struggled with depression, anxiety growing up, that could also be a topic in your project.
The aspect of helping people is surely the biggest focus, but with ads, affiliate likes and maybe a subscription the money isn't a problem either.
