The GREAT RAT RACE ESCAPE was awesome! I actually listened to the Audiobook version and hearing the story behind the Trotmans' unscripted journey was incredibly inspiring (I found myself rooting for them during the ups and downs and feeling further inspired in my own aspirations). I have started reading today "The Great Rat Race Escape ". My approach to reading this book will be vastly different than usual previous readings. Because I am engaged already in reading other books (1 book every 2 weeks) toward my own personal development that support my short and long term goals, this book allows me the opportunity to read it in (many) daily bites until I have it consumed. I refer to this as "Incremental Reading". Consistency and discipline lead to the result.
The structure of the book is perfect as each Chapter/Section/Sub-Section topic is broken down into just a few pages each that can be consumed in 5-15 minutes depending on how you read, think, or study content in a book. In just minutes of this time box, there is not a reason to miss out on setting aside a small block of time to do this. Should something get in the way during the day, 5-15 minutes is much easier to schedule back in to get back on track. In this approach, it will require over 120+ days of reading, but I have acquired that discipline to be able to do it based on previous readings.
I keep in mind that the "ant doesn't consume the whole apple at once, but one bite at a time until it has the whole apple". It will be one bite at a time until 440 pages of "The Great Rat Race Escape " are acquired.
A plan always should account for contingency and I do take a day off from reading to let the mind just relax. In all, it may take 140 days end-to-end on the calendar, but once I complete, I will provide the actual date of completion (targeting sometime in August 2023) back to this group.
Just finished it. I haven't yet read Unscripted as I wanted to go ahead and read the newest book after finishing TMF . But it's definitely on my list! At this point I'm a fan who will likely read everything MJ publishes. Even though I'm not in the fastlane yet, my mindset shift is significant enough that I have a solid go-forward plan and no doubt that within the next few years I will absolutely be there! Yes to the fastlane and No to the rat race!
just finished The Great Rat Race Escape . Have read Unscripted first, then TMF and thought that this third book couldn't tell me much more. Damn was I wrong about that!
Brilliant, nothing more than brilliant, and this book has provided me with a new way to look at the world, with excitement and purpose. I really don't know where this road is going to take me, but I know that I am on a journey of a lifetime.

Hi! My name is MJ Kim and today I signed up for this forum. I have read The Great Rat Race Escape , the Korean-translated version. It's one of the best-selling books in Korea, and thanks to your books I have made up my mind to prepare for the second chapter of my life; starting my own business. BTW, your book has two error parts: one is the Korean alphabet issue (which is critical) and the other one is the quotation mark issue (wrong location). I think you should let the Korean publishing team know about this. I've never seen these types of errors in printed books. @MJ DeMarco

finished it - loved the story element and the narrator on audible is good. I had a discussion with my partner last night who thinks chickens don't have emotions and are just for eating so that was kind of funny after listening to the book.

I re-read the book cover to cover after that and finished it today.
Both these stories really drive home the fact that the Fastlane is not easy. These stories connected the dots for me from all three books.
I have completed my 1/5/10 Planasy and calculated my escape number. Next step is finding a Productocracy where I can provide real value to as many people as possible.
