Sup,
It's one of those problems I really do not wish anyone ever had, but it just happens and I must solve it somehow.
I am in the dormitory, and... My roommate. F*cking hell dude.
So, I live in a shared room, and my roommate keeps talking trash about me.
I always try to concentrate on my invention, bringing my product to Kickstarter, etc, and I sometimes forget about small things - like shutting the balcony door, or turning off the light in the bathroom... And then the storm starts.
"dude how the F*ck do you forget about these things. Have your family not taught you about turning your light off?"
"I'm not supposed to walk around you and tell you what to do".
And you know, fair enough, I don't do these things sometimes. So I can't even say "piss off" because you know, he is right..
But the problem is not this.
It is when I sit down to work.
I sit down to work either in libraries or dormitory halls when the libraries are closed. And then it's like all the crap he tells me starts to bubble up. He is a lazy, overweight person, and it's like starts to transfer onto me. I spend 40% of my workday not actually working, but deflecting his biases and weak opinions from me.
I hope I will just earn enough money and get out of here, but does anybody know a way to mentally block this crap out? I use logic and socratic reasoning, but it just takes time.
