I was considering Self Publishing with Kindle first and other platform after but after i read the chapter about the 5 path for a fastlane road - i have some questions:
- I guess we have a lack of control as most of the control is made by the platform like Amazon
- There is not a high entry i mean except to commit to write a book
- What about time? if you consider you have to write the books, and work on promotions - for sure once created you have an asset
Well i think after read this point i probably should consider Publishing at one point and not only self publishing.
Also when Mark talk about good money, big money and legendary money - if a bestseller can bring you legendary money, most of the time authors suck to get 2000/$3000 / month on a regularly basis - and for this point of view - there is nothing good, big or legendary
For my part i was planned to start as Self Publisher / Author and write few books -non fiction first and fiction if i can - but i tried twice and i feel i didn't find a style - also English is not my first language and it's an absolute to have an English version of his books - Idea is to reach a first goal of 100k/year - once is done i was planned to reach an other goal of 100k/month and change the process or the business to make it happen - even if don't have the big vision now except that i should act as a publisher...
However the big idea is to build a personal brand as a Self Coach - for now i don't know the need i want to solve or at least it's not a specific direction
I should build a portfolio of each books on a website and use it to sell the books - to avoid Amazon slapped or lack of control - but not sure how i could do it - i f i have a book at $5 on Amazon and the same at $27 on a website -
Just would like your feedback on this point and how you see Self Publishing in your FastLane Project ...
