AYO fellow members,
I've been lurking for almost a week during my 9-5 that I desperately want to quit.
All of my life I wanted to be free and independent to do whatever I want with my time. Basically my own boss. For 7 years I followed the "safe advice" from family and friends and tried to adjust and rise the corporate ladder. Almost 30 and after some illuminating, I'm done with it and it's time to be myself and own my life. Honor the Portuguese heritage and sail into the unknown hehe.
Sometimes it seems so overwhelming to put ideas into practice (for example: had an idea on an app that solves a problem I would like to have solved and I think other people would also enjoy, it seems to respect he CENTS but then I researched how much time and money it will cost and it doesn't sound like a great starting point anymore) hence I would like to network with like-minded individuals, and that's why I'm here.
Also, if it's not too cheeky how did most you guys start working on your fast lane? Did you quit your job or did you start as a side hustler? If so, how do you gain energy after 8-10 hours cooking your brain in a commute+office environment?
