However, once you realize that you can - with your own actions - definitively determine your own outcomes in life, you realize that this power lies within you.

Your actions reflect a curious and active nature. Yet, as you admit, you have mastered nothing. I have no idea what your long-term goals are, so I can't tell you if martial arts, dance, photography and programming have anything to do with where you see yourself in 5 months, 5 years, and 5 decades from now.

They key to success, however you define it, is to put the Law of cause and effect to use in your life, in your daily actions. It basically comes down to the simple idea that you are responsible for the good and bad in your life. If you feel lost and confused, if you feel that you waste your time on frivolous activities, and if you find yourself acquiescing to your more impulsive and instinctual tastes, rather than rationally and efficiently pursuing your long-term strategic goals, then you have to look inside your own mind for the solution. It's not your parents; it's not your family; it's not your girlfriend; it's not your friends; it's not your mail man; it's not the people at work, or on your social media. It's you. That is a serious reality check (it was for me when it hit me not too long ago), and it's one you can cash. It's one you can cash once you 1) determine what your long-term goals are and 2) do whatever it takes to get there.

Cause and effect. In your own life, you have enacted several causes. Your actions - dancing, practicing photographs, applying your "interest" in reading to, well, reading - have produced precisely what you would logically expect. You are probably relatively good at dancing, taking photographs, etc. Judging from your avatar, you can probably have what you'd consider to be an "intelligent conversation" on many subjects. Perhaps you are even full of arcane anecdotes and little-known facts.

But how much money has that made you? At this point, neither of us is an @MJ DeMarco, who can turn the power of paragraphs into profit.

Focus on money actions. That's what my brother (also on the Fastlane) and I tell each other everyday. Focus on money actions.

Your actions in life will put you precisely where they should. A capricious mind, one that flits from this to that, mastering nothing, obtaining no real results in the end, ends up receiving precisely what it justly deserves. The voice that you hear telling you to change your actions (the same voice that compelled you to write the OP) knows of your higher power, your greater ability. It knows that you are fully capable of spending your time on perhaps less enjoyable (at least in the beginning), but much more profitable and productive (in the long run) activities.

I highly believe that fate is in our own hands. I believe that coincidences are universe's way of telling me: Come on a**hole, stop wasting your time, I'm showing you the path, now follow it.

I mastered nothing for one very simple reason: I lied to myself. I didn't do it on purpose. I just didn't know better. Realizing one thing after another is what led me to this forum. My path to happiness did not start when I joined this forum or read the book. It simply showed me that I am on the right path, now with new obstacles. I master nothing because I would love to know a lot of things, but the time I have says: Sorry bro, can't let you do that yet (and the other reason - for example, dance lessons are once in a week, with a group. It is slow paced and not personalized. I can't see my mistakes because nobody points them out, we are too much. I would have a personal trainer but it costs a lot). I mastered nothing because I was looking for a solution and I didn't find it elsewhere. It all comes with realization. The path that led me here is the same one which had the obstacles that showed what I really want to do and how I can do it. After figuring that out, I started putting all my efforts into college. I finished it even tho I was working 2 jobs at the same time (no I didn't sleep much). I believed in that. I wanted to go to the university. Then I stumbled upon TMF. I read it. It made me thinking. I couldn't find a job (lack of experience) even though I have a college degree. I read about business; it looked different that I thought. I took a break of this forum and everything. It was highly needed to regain focus. Too much new information. My opinions, my mindset, everything went into pieces. Then the bigger picture started appearing: Without starting a business, I will never have a life I want to have. That is the one and the only way. I really saw a path I need to take in order to get there. I just didn't know how. So one thing led to another once again and here I am asking for help in order to proceed. Now I know how to do it and I started doing it.

I can't do one thing and that thing only. When I do dishes, I listen to a podcast or watch something on my cellphone next to me. When I was in college, I used to watch a movie while studying. I eat only if I have something productive to do at the same time. While this can be good, it can be pretty bad also. I have certain knowledge and interest in writing, psychology, Photoshop, different programming languages like Java, C#, VB, PHP, mobile development, website building, hacking and I tried a lot of things; martial arts, dance, photography, just to name a few but I mastered nothing. My problem is not that I am not doing, it's that I'm overdoing it. That's why we start a lot of things, but don't finish them; we want to do everything.

I never had a startup business, I have no experience. Let's see how this plays out in the future

[HASHTAG]#CreateYourMastermindGroup[/HASHTAG] (ideally 3-4 people)

Interesting. I was looking for other people in my city and mastermind groups but wasn't successful so far. How do you start a mastermind group and what are the best ways to find people to engage?

I listened to it many times in 2010 and I suppose in at this point in time in 2011 I was watching the 8 mile Road, and some of his videos and it just clicked all of a sudden. I suppose we were both from Michigan, both had similar but very different lives, and he was a writer and I listened to his interviews. He wrote on anything, studied the dictionary, and wrote everywhere in his spare time.

He saved every piece he wrote to recycle later. I suppose at the time I needed to gain some attitude, he was from the other side of Michigan where it was ten times harder to live. He's even an introvert. Not the best role model, but the flame that ignited the spark to get here. It motivated me to mentally strong, and start this journey and practice writing, finish my last term of college even though the odds were against me. It was when I was learning to focus like you. lol Not allowing anything to distract me, training my thoughts, and staying in the now. Not focused on the outcome or the past. That year was one crossing into this world. It was time to fight for what I wanted in life. The point where you want to succeed more than you want to breathe. When you must take action every second of the day to get to your goal. That transition in mindsets makes a huge difference.

The lesson you learn that the one who has control over your life is you. The moment you understand you have to motivate yourself, discipline yourself, spend hours and hours mastering your skills into peak performance. And the only person who is going to get you there in life is yourself.

This forum gives you a diversity of people who have walked many trails. Everyone has a story, and always different lessons to teach us.

I met an Entrepreneur before I left and he said," I want to hear in two months you're in the Netherlands." The other was he told me how they find Olympic runners. They go to find the ones like in Africa that have to run every day to get water and food, and have no transportation. Train them, because they know the runner can beat the guys on the track in America. lol

Now I don't know if that was true, but it motivated me to keep going. Perhaps the moral of the story, if you go through a lot of mountains and trails, perhaps you rise above others, because they've never had the experience. When he said that, I didn't know how that was going to happen. But It did. He knew I had what it took. I only talked to him a three times and never seen him again. And to find someone like him my neighborhood was an experience, and a blessing in disguise, I was so honored to talk to him.

$100 says you have never heard the demo version of Eminem's Lose Yourself (see above). Another $100 says you'll like it.

When you drain every second out of the sponge of creativity, you have "no time to sit there and procrastinate."

In sales, the market constantly teaches us that you have to motivate yourself. In sales, winning requires "disciplining yourself," spending "hours and hours mastering" the skills of prospecting and closing.

In the book "Limitless," (later made into both a movie and television show), the main character takes a pill that automatically gets him into that flow state often described in your posts. In his most enlightened state, he logically deduces that his most effective way to make money was to do so via "phone calls."

Phone calls. That's it. He distilled it down to that.

If you've ever studied Jordan Belfort's Straight Line System, then you know the emphasis he places on NLP. Leaders like Jordan - much to the chagrin of his detractors - command respect from his salespeople, because he fills them with motivation. He simply exudes so much of the closer's mindset that his guys just soak it up, and pick it up automatically. That's what happens when a Master goes to work.
