Hulu/NetFlix type website

Well we all know what Hulu and Netflix do, if you don't then google them to better understand. None the less while I do subscribe to both, I feel they both lack plenty. Netflix is just terrible with updating new streaming content, and Hulu is limited and often doesn't have the best quality (same can be said of Netflix). None the less I always dreamed of starting a site like that, I know streaming content will be king, but it's hard to find places that actually have high quality streaming shows and movies. VUDU does a great job at this, but it's pay per movie, and well I'm looking to start a streaming site for shows and maybe some movies. So now that we have some background on what I'm talking about, I guess my main issue is how would I even go about "licensing" or getting permission to stream movies and TV shows? Would I even be able to do that? I guess that's the one thing that's always detracted me away from even pursuing it further. None the less I wouldn't mind sharing the profits (with the owners of the content I'd be showing) if I could actually do it. It would be plenty of work no doubt, but I'm experience in web design and I could definitely get back into it more so to start this. Anyone have any idea?
