I was just watching a Clark Howard segment on Headline News.
A guy called in with a new scam -- sort of.
This guy bought something online from a porn-related site.
A few days later, he received a letter from the company, along with a refund check.
The letter said "State laws prevent us from shipping this product to your state."
The check was for his full purchase price, including shipping.
They called the bank, and the check is good.
But there is XXX porn all over the check, both words and pictures.
So the guy is too embarrassed to take the check to the bank.
Pretty great idea, huh?
All you need to do is build a site with a bunch of products you don't have.
Take orders, and then refund the purchase price and shipping with checks that folks are too embarrassed to cash.
Of course, I'd cash the check...and just smile at the teller.
But a lot of folks with small checks (under $50?) probably won't.
