So… I have this little ecom company that’s got some traction, but feel like things are going to slow.
I wanted I wanted to explain a little bit about where I’m at, for anyone interested to read about some ecom metrics or thinking of starting ecom. The purpose of this thread, for myself, is to see if anyone had some guidance/perspective or has had success in ecom to provide their insight.
So to date we’ve sold 300 units (restock comes next week) but have taken about 10 months to sell them all. Website conversion rate is around 3-4% when ads are running. The product is fairly low ticket £32.99 but like I said, roas has been positive but nothing crazy. Enough to make some profit but would have to do very high volume to make it worth while. Bear in mind I’ve launched 5 creatives to dates so haven’t really gone hard on ads.
Ads have only been running for two of those months, past month and back in November. Haven’t managed to figure out meta ads yet but roas has been positive so far for the ads we have run. Had to switch them off because we were about to sell out.
We’ve had some wholesale interest. Got one sale of 10 units and have had people reach out to me for wholesale enquiries (about 5 other companies have reached out). Haven’t locked in sales from the other companies so I guess I need to refine my offer as margins might not be enough. I’m currently offering 45 percent margin for 10 units.
I guess all I’m asking is if anyone has some perspective on initial signs of a winner, by all means spread your knowledge this way.. I’m all ears. I feel like I’m on the right path but with zero perspective or guidance, hard to say if this is a winner.
To add to this, I feel like I’m reaching a point where partnership or more people on the brand would benefit it. Lonely world building it alone and I know people (as much as we think we can do everything) benefit greatly from teams over solo work.
Currently only 1 product store, planning to launch product 2 in the next month. Profits to date from the first batch are minimal (approximately 3-4k over the past year of which most has been reinvested or been drawdown to help with rent).
Also if you have any questions, ask away too, be happy to help where I can.
