Well finally joined the AI party, I've been interested but hesitant.. Seems things change every week and I did not want a distraction, I'm trying to run a business after all... But jumped in fully with several agents.. here's how I have my "company" running and how I did it, and how you can to.
My biz, I have a premium food brand, that makes small batch hummus sold in jars. I sell locally to a few stores, do online sales/shipping and subscription. 90% of sales is D2C at weekly markets/events, I over see the manufacturing and all ops... How can AI help me? A lot apparently...
I had Chat GPT write me instructions (I'm not that savvy).. And installed "OpenClaw" as its own user (Not an Admin) on my MacBook.. This gives it enough room to run, but still has protection in place. I've been using ClaudeCLI as the interface (Runs on Terminal app).. I struggled to think of use cases for agents in my business, a big part of why I haven't used them until now... How can they really help me? So! First Agent I made handled that question..
David. David is my system architect, my "digital cofounder" he gives me proposals I approve or deny, that include ideas/processes to grow or smooth out my business... Including how AI can help or not. David is the Agent that creates Agents for me.
(btw I named my agents and gave them a little personality haha)
Linda, the first and most useful agent made for me after knowing my struggles.. Linda is an Admin that manages all ops, she gives me morning briefs, ties into a Google Calendar, recaps my day, and preps me for next day tasks, all other agents give her reports, which she puts in the briefs for me.
Tiffany, built by David upon his suggestion is my Marketing manager.. She is trained by some of the marketing greats, and tells me what to do, like how I should structure an email flow/funnel in Klavyio, Tiffany "knows" this because...
Sam, Samantha is my researcher. She can be controlled by Me, Linda, David, and Tiffany. She goes out crawls around, and packages reports the other agents or me can read.. She found similar premium food brands with strong marketing, took notes and Tiffany trained on it. She ingested all my ingredients I use, found better sites and brands to source from and saved me $100 in ingredients already. She scraped for Christmas markets, put a list together of the biggest best to apply to (according to my criteria).. Also she came across an upcoming event, I missed. That has the deadline to apply this week!! I was able to apply, I would've been extremely sad if I missed application to this event. Thanks Sam!
Last is Scribe, a simple writing agent trained in my writing style, to fill in applications, draft marketing emails etc.. Scribe reports to the other agents. always get final approval...
It sounds like a lot, but this took only a day or so to setup! With good instructions from ChatGPT, and creating David first.. But the cognitive load on me is SO MUCH LESS!!! With Linda keeping track of operations, briefing me.. David giving growth ideas, Tiffany telling me marketing plans, and Sam doing deep research... Feel my role in my business solidified, got organized, and simplified.. in a few days.
Oh, did I mention OpenClaw is free, I just pay the $20 month for Claude.. to run all of this!!
