Hi

Before I introduce myself, I'd like to just thank @MJ for both TMF and Unscripted . Both amazing books with tons of value (I especially loved how mathematical and structured everything was, really spoke true to me). I'd also like to thank @Valier for introducing me to MJ through your videos.

I'm Josh, 19, finishing off my undergraduate degree this year in Gold Coast, Australia. I'll be heading into Medical School next year. Currently, the plan is to complete medical school whilst having some sort of side hustle business, or a job to develop skills that'll come in handy in the future (i.e. sales).

My personal development journey I guess started with when I purchased Tai Lopez's 67 steps and discovered RSD at 16. At that time I was well immersed in personal development and I toyed with the idea of going into business. But I prioritised studying throughout high school and didn't put much thought into business (although it's always nagging at the back of my mind). I thought I was going to go into biotech at one stage (my attempt of combining business + medicine). Truth was, I was kidding my self, and not taking any action in terms of business. It frustrates me because I really do enjoy studying and I treat it like my mission (my daily life is basically engulfed with studying), and as a result, I hadn't give business enough to manifest into any sort of action.

I've never run a business before. I did try to run a Facebook page giving content which I hoped was helpful for the Medical School Entrance Exam. After a month of posting daily and not getting much traction, DMing people asking for their feedback, I've realised that there are other pages, prep companies, individuals providing more value to them in ways that I could not do on my own. I broke the idea down into its key features and I could not think of any values which I could skew, or do better than them at this stage. So I've stopped the page, and am currently looking for more problems to solve in the market place (though I have no idea atm).

I'm excited to join the forum, and learn from you guys!

Welcome my friend, yes, good question. Why medicine? Is it a passion? Something that interests you?

Why medicine?
Welcome my friend, yes, good question. Why medicine? Is it a passion? Something that interests you?

Yeah, so I enjoy the intellectual stimulation, and pretty good at studying, have really enjoyed interacting, helping residents out when at worked at an age care(16-18). But I think on a personal level, I have a very giving personality that's kinda in my DNA (like I tutor my friends, even sometimes strangers for free, I would do work for free. I'd give away all my notes to my friends) Over the years I've learned to be a bit more cautious to whom I give, share to, but the DNA is there, cant help it (one of the reasons why I thought I would be bad in business when I was young (before i read TMF ), Im really bad at taking). So personality wise, I thought that medicine as a field (working as a team to help patients), would allow my conflict averse personality to flourish.

But in short, I see medicine as a way though which I can maximise my strength and provide the most value to the world at this point.
