Hello to all,
This is my first time posting in the forum. I've recently completed reading "Unscripted", and I'm in the process of reading through "The Millionaire Fast Lane". I'm studying marketing at the age of 20 in the UK, and will hopefully graduate in a few months. I'm seeking guidance on what truly matters in your 20s. I was feeling quite lost regarding which path to pursue: an academic one working for someone else, or an autonomous route (being self-sufficient), so why not both?
I'm in the idea phase of creating a business that offers value to the market and have the eventual goal of becoming autonomous, without being bound to the corporate ladder or knowing someone who knows someone. To get my goal, I believe I need a safety net, which is my degree, if it is even worth anything nowadays (just a piece of mind thing). I'm still hoping to gain the experience of employment in these fields, so I can at least say I've had the experience, while giving myself a financial foundation so I can afford to start driving and purchase my first car, too. In the meantime, I'm going to grind like nothing else before, cut out the noise and focus on my ventures into entrepreneurship and what truly matters in my own life. I had some experience creating/running my own business, but none of them were truly mine as they operated on a platform owned by someone else, which won't be the case moving forward (one of many things I learnt from "Unscripted").
If anyone has advice regarding what matters in your 20s, it would be greatly appreciated (it could be life advice, career advice, anything is welcome). I actively read threads, and I'm look forward to learning from other people's forum discussions, while also aiming to contribute myself. I feel quite directionless at the moment and want to try cut some of that noise out so I can start living and give value back to the world, instead of just existing (like an NPC).
