Hello Folks, Dave Here[Insert here how I've been a slowlaner and thread stalker for X years and I've come to the realization that no one but me is responsible to build the life I want/need]
I do not live and have never been to Vietnam(it's on the list though), I'm just fan of Robin Williams. I was born and raised in what we call the Canary Islands of the West: Pennsylvania USA
I am 28 and moved into the workforce right out of high school because I was scared of mounting debt if I picked the wrong path & couldn't make the Shekels to pay it back. After jumping from job to job based on best hourly rate, in 2017 I planted my feet(cemented morelike) at a manufacturing company. Went from floor operator, to startup/commissioning lead of a new facility department, and for the past 2 years have been production supervisor(AMA I guess and I'll tell you how much of my job is employee therapy seshes and changing their diapers from time to time) And then I woke up one day wondering how I got here and where the time went obviously
My dad has been a business owner since my conception in '95, and I have always been obsessed with the idea of owning and operating a biz of my own. I inherited a lot of his morals when it comes to pouring everything you have into your craft, work until your bones hurt(not necessarily great), and the quality of the work you do defines you... He's not quite in the fast lane but he started with nothing, and with his vision built a very comfy life for his family.
Anyway! To sum it up I read the books cover to cover and on my 3rd reread of The Millionaire Fastlane. My real reason for posting lies in the fact that I have always had the energy to create the life that I want, but my actions never supported that and I need to flip the script. I have to stick with my slowlane job for the time being out of necessity to pay the bills, but since January I'm dedicating most of my waking off-hours into my own startup that I hope to share a bit about soon in a follow up thread.
