Applying to jobs online is not working for me. Why? Because 100+ people are probably applying to these very same jobs. Most of whom have relevant qualifications. Sent out dozens upon dozens of applications for the past few weeks with no reply.
I'd rather be proactive.
Starting tomorrow I'm going to hit every business in my community, asking for the manager/owner, and asking if there are any openings. If all no one is hiring in the immediate area, then I'll go to the neighboring community and so on and so forth until I've exhausted every business in this entire city. If anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them.
I have little to no relevant working experience, however I imagine someone will finally say yes. It's a numbers game. I'm open to any menial/mind numbing job. Need a steady income stream, as business is erratic right now.
I'm going to dress well, be polite. Doing something like this is outside of my comfort zone, but heck, if I want to play with the big boys, and be one someday, facing possible rejection is something I need to get used to. It seems as if almost everything is outside of my comfort zone... time to leave that behind.
I've been whimsically looking for a job for perhaps a month or two with no results. I'm curious to see how long it takes me to land one by actively pursuing it.
