Hey Guys,
My name is Lance Johnson. I'm a 21 year old dude from Richmond, VA. Right now I'm a student at J Sargeant Reynolds CC, and a PFC in the VA Army National Guard.
I've been doing an internet job (I was working for myself, but it was definitely still a job) and now want to build a publishing business.
I'm not talking old-school, throw-a-pretty-magazine-and-non-converting-ads- out-there publishing either. Tribe building, conversation holding, passionate publishing focused around hobbies that are GOOD for people, and don't bring the world down.
The name of my company is 818 publishing LLC, because I want to stay focused and remember that all true prosperity comes from God, (Deuteronomy 8:18) and I'm going to follow him wherever.
As far as being a millionaire goes, my goal is to be a CASH millionaire by 1 September 2010. There are a ton of guys working online who have done it in less time, but I really want to build a strong business foundation around it, and not just make a quick buck.
I've got the outline setup and general idea of how I want to get there, but am putting together a hardcore business plan right now. I'll be posting it up here, and looking for your help.
My [biggest] strengths: talking to people, making stuff into systems, brainstorming, excitement.
My [biggest] weaknesses: staying focused, micromanaging, organization, taxes and legal affairs.
Things I need to learn: landing partners (I've been doing the approach part really well), finding and hiring quality talent, financing a business and raising capital.
Things I'm doing pretty well: selling, attempting to land partners, making systems for my employees.
Looking forward to getting to know everybody here, and learning a lot!
