Everyone hates standing in line when they go shopping, right?
Think of the number of hours you waste in a year, just standing in line - at the grocery store, Walmart, Target, or wherever you shop for your weekly groceries and household items.
With an average wait in line of 10 minutes a week X 52 weeks = 8.7 hours per year. Just... Waiting... In... Line.
8 HOURS! That's just ridiculous when you think about it, isn't it?
But that's not even the half of it. Think about all the times that you've stood in line, waiting on some old blue-hair that couldn't figure out how to scan your item and couldn't read the numbers on the barcode so she had to call for a price check or ask a manager for assistance or some other embarrassing / frustrating situation that we've all experienced while.... Waiting... In... Line.
How did that experience make you feel? Frustrated? Angry? Did it ruin your mood for the moment?
Wouldn't it be nice if there were a way to bypass all of that??

A solution...
This is what I would like to see, and this is what I challenge someone to create:
A VIP membership or "Express Pass" for your grocery store / Walmart / Target / etc. (Could be a membership that you pay PER store or a MULTI-store membership, but it would probably make more sense and be easier to enact if it were PER store. I don't care.)
This membership would act kind of like how they have the "Express Pass" at Universal Studios that allows you to skip the wait in line for the roller coaster. Or how some of the car rental companies have a "Fastbreak" that allows you to skip the checkout line and go directly to your car.
In order to receive the perks of this VIP / "express pass", you pay an annual membership (maybe $99, maybe $199) and with it you're guaranteed access to a self-checkout terminal or a dedicated employee that only serves VIP's. Or maybe you go to a VIP booth, and the concierge opens up a new line for you, I don't know, figure out the details.
Man, would I ever like to see this type of service available. PLEASE, someone get on this! Make it happen! (In case you couldn't tell, I wasted a good 30 minutes waiting in line today at the store to pick up 4 items.) :smx4:
