Hello all,

I am in the middle of working out a plan to reach out to local businesses to offer marketing services. These would primarily be digital marketing, but I can also explore offline marketing if that would help generate results of the client.

Here is the angle that I am pursuing:
-Reaching out/offering this service to local businesses that can't afford to hire agencies
-Who does not have the capability/experience to find and hire freelancers/vendors for local SEO, PPC, etc. by themselves
-Are too small or only have a small budget - as a result of which they are either not approached by other sellers offering marketing/digital marketing services, or do not entertain their offers.
-Based on my experience, these are mostly "One-man businesses" like insurance agents, photographers, etc.

Since these businesses are targeting small areas, the audience size is also small - and so are their expectations in terms of deliverables. Consistent 1 or 2 leads/sales a day would make them happy. And someone who is available to answer their queries/offer suggestions & just be honest instead of using fancy agency talk.

The service would be priced economically, would be result-oriented, and not a lot of such clients would be accepted. Maybe 10 or 15 to avoid being overwhelmed with work.

The first step would be to research & come up with a plan that would actually add value to such businesses by delivering results. (increase in leads/sales etc.)

Second step would be to reach out to such business owners to see if they would be interested in trying out the service for a month.

And of course, the delivery part would be next.

Please share feedback/inputs.

Also how likely are such local business owners in the US to explore such a service, considering I am based outside the US?

Thanks & Merry Chrismas.

How are you planning to find the clients? And do you have any idea on the type of service you would provide?

I'd suggest specialising in just one niche and/or one service. That way, you get very good at providing results in one area, you can charge higher rates as a specialist, and you can almost copy and paste the service delivery for new clients.

I get spammed constantly for this stuff by being an owner of a lawn care business.

With that said, you’ll get results posting on craigslist in a ton of cities.

I would be a potential client and am conflicted. I like the idea, but my only concern is that you will be performance-based. There is one lead company out there that you pay for leads as they come up. In other words, they sell each lead. I look at the leads but never buy them.

There are tons of companies out there selling leads. I feel all leads are of equal quality. So if you could find a way to get better quality leads, that might be interesting. Or if your prices are truly affordable compared to everyone else, I might give it a try.

I wish you luck and feel free to message me. I have made my own leads and bought several companies leads. So if you have any questions I am available.

^^^ Do this if you can!

I’ve had a lot of small local service clients. I’ve quite a few threads you might want to check out in my signature.
