Oops forgot to finish my title before posting. Was supposed to say "Fast, Effective Ebay Lighting". Anyway...
Haven't been doing much thrift & flip on Ebay lately, but stopped by a thrift store on my way home yesterday. Ended up spending $15 on a couple small things and wanted to get them up this morning. Problem is, I got rid of the stuff I was using to make good Ebay pictures and at 3am my options were pretty limited.
Oh well. I got creative.
Here's what you need:
- A box or in my case several pieces of loose cardboard
- White un-lined paper. I used some from a sketch pad.
- Your smartphone with a flashlight app.
1. Line the cardboard or box with white paper creating a completely white background. You can do it with tape but I didn't.
2. Poke a hole in the top of the box just large enough for your phone light.
3. Put the product inside the box under the hole and turn your phone flashlight on. This makes a spotlight effect on your item.
4. Use a second phone or camera to snap pictures of the product from the open side of the box with the flash turned on, and don't forget to take shots from various angles. You can also move the product around to test different shadow angles.
5. Crop the picture.
The effect is a super-budget setup that looks pretty good if you ask me.
Enjoy
