Philosophical Convo. You have been warned.
Have you ever felt like you’re on the verge of having a really important aha moment in a conversation and then the person you’re talking to has to go?
This just happened to me. I’m starting to realize that although I would like to learn a great deal more about many things and have more stuff.. I don’t genuinely care about business the way successful people do. Thankfully I’m not crippled by this realization or beating myself up because I’m shallow. I’m not a shallow person.. it’s just I don’t have the depth of feeling and unselfishness for Business.
I know that I’m capable of caring more, of being more passionate.. but I also know it’s difficult.
I think this might be the One Thing that is preventing me from dedicating way more time and energy into business.. I care, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t care enough.
I’d much rather be selfish with my time and my finances (Sidewalk or Slowlane) than have to care about employees..
But I don’t want to stay that way.. it seems, well, kinda crappy. The thing is, all I know about is being kinda selfish about business. I work until I have enough cash and that’s usually where my caring ends. I can’t even comprehend moving from this level of consideration to a level where I care all day every day about not just my business but also employees..
From experience I know that the only way to grow in caring is to surround myself with people who care more than me and then kinda “catch” their passion.
On the forum we talk about hustling, working hard, clarity, goals, and more but.. I’m wondering if those of you who have businesses with employees would mind sharing stories of how much you care - about your actual business.
It’s your baby right? It’s your pride and joy? Was it always that way? It developed somehow.. did you decide to love it and then keep loving it? Like, how do I grow my heart three sizes for business?!?
I feel like the Grinch sometimes.
Ugh. I dunno what I’m tryin to ask.. help. Please. And by help what I mean is share anything at all you thought of when you read this cuz I don’t know what I’m trying to figure out exactly.. I just know it has to do with business, employees, unselfishness, and passion.
Thanks guys.
