There are these two opposing mindsets, I just can´t get my head around.

"Change what isn´t working" vs. "Be persistent"

For example, I´m learning code and programming apps for 7 months now, all by myself. A first sale is still in the distance.
Am I just denying that something isn´t working. Or should I just continue and be persistent?
Maybe I need a mentor or a supporting environment, then again I´m persistent making it alone and persistent about making it in the app market.

When do you determine, that it isn´t working out?

I think the missing link you are looking for is diligence

Denial is about ommission of critical facts
And persistence is about finding those facts

Diligence is converting a lack of facts into a context built of them

Well, “why” are you learning to build apps? Is it because there’s a specific need or is it just for your entertainment?

You have yet to set a positive feedback loop in motion.

Thanks! But I´m not sure to understand correctly. Isn´t diligence synonymous to persistence?

There is certainly a need I´m pursuing, but it´s the execution that fails.

What's the quickest way to a customer? Or at a minimum, the quickest way to engage the marketmind?

I have a vision of how the game app needs to look and feel like, but I lack both level design and coding skill. I´m still just-in-time learning, but thinking that the market might be too mature to make a dent with my skills. Maybe getting a job in the industry would be better to learn the ropes than trying it all on my own?

Good pointer MJ!
There are two options that I´m engaging in for game apps:
1. Playable prototype and get feedback
2. Concept pitch using visuals and gameplay descriptions.

Getting a customer is definitely a more specific mindset than getting a sale. Thinking, who the customer is and what he wants instead of just getting a first sale.
Also getting some hints from the Unscripted book as well. Sweet. :smile2:

I've built a software company myself and took wayyyyyyy to long to launch. I've always thought that I needed another feature, better design, better speed, a lead page, blah blah blah. Pushed out my launch for months.

Being really honest with yourself. Can you get an MVP of your product out with your skills?

Definitely possible! Thanks a lot.

You are trying to create the next cuphead or shovel knight eh?
Crowd fund it, build a demo
Then if one is a hit you make the game with others if need be

Thats all you need really
Just one concept level

Sounds like you need feedback from the market for you to decide if you should double down on the course your on.

Get the feedback you need from the market. Even silence (like MJ said in Unscripted ) is helpful, not the whole answer, but could help. Also, get it in front of enough people so it's a real test (not 100 FB friends).
