I'm going to let some weight off my chest.

I'm sometimes thinking about how I lost my friends after I decided not to become a doctor. I don't feel guilty. It's just that 2 years ago I could've never imagined not becoming a doctor and choosing CS in university.

I was that kid in school who would only listen to lectures carefully and prepare for the exam on the last day. I have been lazy with my studies my whole life but somehow I always managed to stay in the 1% A+ range up until 11th grade.

I hate Maths but finally, I'm going to get in touch with Maths again. Ughhh. Who uses algebra, integration, and differentiation, seriously?

I got 96% grades. I could've prepared for the entry tests, could've had a good aggregate, and had a reasonable chance of becoming a doctor on a government scholarship, but I didn't. My parents are broke and in debt, so I can't self-finance myself. It's either govt scholarship or a cheap university.

I chose to go on a long entrepreneurial journey that is just getting started. My dad has been a struggling entrepreneur (due to his bad decisions) but he supports me on this journey. I don't doubt myself. My relationships with my friends have weakened because I was the odd one out and didn't pursue medicine.

What really has started to get me is how lonely I am right now. I have lost all my friends after college and they are preparing for the entry test while I'm at my home learning a new skill to earn more as an Amazon Advertising Specialist. I feel like it's just me and my efforts, and there is no one watching my back.

Fastlane graduates, what would you do if you were in my shoes? I'm currently sharpening a new skill I picked up 5 months ago (Amazon Ads). I don't have any regrets. I do feel lonely. How long will this loneliness last?
