Does anyone have any creative ideas for night owls?

I'm always up late at night... lol
You could start a chat/help line with people in different countries/time zones.
I remember studying a MOOC from an American college that had live video discussion evenings, for me that was one AM onwards, but the benefit greatly outwayed the inconvenience.
Are there ways you can help others at this time?

I suppose as a start you can constructively use the time to come up with ideas how to constructively use the time ;)

That sounds like mental masturbation! Lol

But really, gonna give my personal website another go.

I used to be too caught up in designing the layout with WordPress, instead of producing valuable content.

Now that sounds like a plan.

read all famous copywriters material you can grab

it will rewire your brain to win the war of money

i call this :

" the battle for the management of the emotional brain of the customer "

i became aware of this battle thanks to eben Pagan's teaching

the guy is a genius

you should listen to everything he produces

the guy is a Mastermind who had to learn to deal with the emotional brain of the customers

Marketing fills the gap between logical experts and the emotional masses

--- > customers don't care about logical solutions :

" wake up early, train hard, eat broccoli "

---> they care about solutions which appeal to the emotional brain and their limited view of reality

" take a magic pill, go to bed, wake up in good shape without doing anything "

Nowhere
When I was at UF there was a company that delivered fresh baked cookies on Thursday-Saturday from 8PM-2:30AM. Delivery only. No sit down.

They didn't have a kitchen since it was just some college kids or recent grads (I forgot which).
>>They rented a kitchen from a restaurant that was closed from 8PM-3AM.

They didn't have the infrastructure to have an in-house delivery team.
>>They used an outsourced delivery team. Similar to UberEats, but this was long before UberEats.

Looking at their website now it looks like they've expanded their hours, have a dedicated kitchen, and an in-house delivery team.

This business model would probably work in college towns across the country. Seems like something that would be possible to franchise.

I bet there are similar companies in Austin. If not, then I definitely see a big opportunity.

Learn an instrument. I've been playing guitar 10+ years and when I first started out, I would play until 4am on school nights. That's when I was most creative. No distractions either.

Definitely good on that aspect, it's the business/money side I'm working on (gotta fund those passions somehow haha)

Write a book! Even if you don't have any idea what you would write, read the book "Published" by Chandler Bolt and it will help you come up with tons of ideas. I self published my book Money Honey by doing the same thing, staying up late and writing, and now I make $1,000/mo passive income. All it takes is time!

I might have to try this!

Have you tried working on a business?

It's really taking off with this community I hear :)

Haha yeah, I’ll give that one a go!

Are some people born night owls?

Ever since I was a kid, I remember staying up late to read or watch tv. You’d basically have to drag me to school every morning because I would be up all night working on something.

The nights for me were just more creative hours.

I wonder if this has something to do with our ancestors, and how it was one person’s job to keep the tribe safe whilst everyone slept.

where eagles dare
  1. Learn a valuable skill
  2. Do a fieldtrip, snoop around, talk to people and snatch up some gigs in the afternoon (Diesel&Coffee-stuff, as in Mr Black's signature)
  3. Work on projects at night
  4. Get up at lunchtime and deliver the goodies

This is 2018, people don't go to bed at 10pm anymore. 1/2 of all my washer and dryer sales are between 10pm-2am. It's very common for me to deliver at 10pm on any given night. That's why I love what I do..... I'm a night owl as well. I think a lot of things could be done at night if people tried and give it a while to catch on.

Dude - any service that does 9 - 5 only

Do you know how hard it is to find time to go to these places when you have a job?

Doctors (as in GPs), Dentist, Banks, Mechanics

Think a bit and you're bound to find one

In Lincoln, Nebraska there has been a 24 hour mechanic shop for about 12 years now. I'm guessing they do well or else they probably wouldn't still be doing it..... although.... that's not always true, but I bet it does a lot of business at night.

You could move to a 24 hour town, like Vegas or Tel Aviv, and join a million other people who commute to work at midnight. You could have an ordinary business... restaurant, dry cleaning, car repair... that's extremely convenient for other night owls.

You could get into the Nightlife Industry. There was a real eye-opening behind the scenes great thread here, from someone who throws late night parties in Hollywood. You could be an event promoter, DJ, member of the papparazi etc.

You could offer 24 hour overflow or continuity service for other businesses that would like to let customers get service all night, but the owners and managers don't want to stay up that late.

You could do something very creative, such as writing a book, with hardly any distractions around you.

I have to say that I've never encountered the term noctambulism before... had to sleepily walk over the dictionary to look it up. Posts this erudite can keep readers up at night.

Congratulations Rachel. Is that from people buying your book? Do you have a post here about what marketing you did to get to that level of sales?

Perhaps it might be worthwhile to experiment with blue light filtering glasses. I learned that the artificial light from our electronic devices and bulbs tricks our bodies into thinking that the sun is still up and that its still daytime. This delays the body's natural processes which induces sleepiness. I purchased one from a brand called UVEX. It's cheap and doesn't look great compared to some of the other options, but it actually does the job better.

That aside, if not business building, I usually get a kick out of pondering spiritual stuff. Thinking of the big questions like where did we come from, is there a God, what is our purpose, who am I, how should we live and where are we headed.

Hope that's helpful.

-M.

No need to move to Vegas. Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area the traffic is almost as bad at 2am as it is at 2pm. I came through Dallas at 4am before and it looked like rush hour did 5 years ago. About 3-4 years ago the night traffic starting being as bad as the day traffic on most nights. There are some nights the traffic is not bad at all but most nights are heavy these days.
