As a long-time writer, I'm pretty familiar w/copyright laws.
It always amazes me how many people think that copying/pasting things from the 'net are legal (in most cases, they're not, even if you attribute or link to the original author).
Here's a recent story from Edward Champion's blog about a cook book magazine that was based around stealing articles and photos online, and what happened to them:
