According to a World Bank Report, just Indian cities will need $2.4 trillion for climate-related infrastructure by 2050. Most of it is just adaptation to the consequences, not even talking about slowing down the impact, carbon accounting, carbon removal, etc. India already has a "Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change" (https://moef.gov.in/) --- they take it seriously because in India they already feel the pain.
According to WorkOnClimate.org, climate change will generate at least 100 million new jobs, particularly new technologies -- and not just EV cars, it's also sustainable farming, cargo ships, storing energy; it's also education about all that as well as recruiting sectors and the HR, sales and marketing to support it all. It's more precise insurance anticipating floods and forecast fires as well as the capital markets tools that can fund that all. It is carbon accounting that can serve as the foundation for potentially carbon taxes.
According to some kids in an elementary school in NYC where I was a volunteer, environment, pollution, etc. are the main issues facing humanity.
Thus, there should be a moment when suddenly all countries and not just the rich ones will switch their policies, and all consumers will switch their mindset, and suddenly everything related to sustainability or cilmate change will be in great demand. We just don't know when this moment will arrive.
